I'm really fed up with a lot of things at the moment and having quite a bad time so I'm thinking about blowing £500 on a flight to South Korea to see a friend for a week.

Am I being stupid or what?

(if it helps, I spent 2 months there a year ago)

was it a female friend and if so is she fit? ;)

Errr sure why not. If you can afford it, if you can get time off work/uni/school
If you are not running from the Police. etc etc etc.

I dont see any problems.

yeah, as long as it didn't **** you up too much finacially then i don't see why that wasn't a great way to spend some cash.

what you have to ask yourself is when you're on your deathbed are you gonna think, damn why did i spend £500 on jet setting around the world? or would you ask yourself why DIDN'T you?

Money sucks. Spur of the moment trips always win. It's the last minute trips that always turn out to be the best.

Go for it

Well I got a £4000 cheque today (funding for PhD)... now while some of that is spent, I figure I just won't eat for the next few months.... besides I have overdrafts and will get another cheque come January anyway....

I'm just thinking about my happiness.... £500 is nothing over a course of a few years.....

Also looking at the US as can get a week + hotel for similar price.

Actually, anyone any suggestions? Will consider anywhere.... even close to home (Ireland/NI even...).

Assuming you are in England, get a flight to Galway and spend a few nights there having some of the best craic ever with the locals. There's seisiuns on every night and always plenty of craic to be had.

A flight direct is about £160 though... how much would hotels be?

I was placed in a similar situation recently. For £550 I can fly out to Portugal on Boxing day, and for 12 days live less than a mile from Skydive Algarve, and go skydiving every day, includes flights, accomodation, transport there, even some meals while there. So the options were stay here and freeze my nuts off, or go to Portugal and lob myself out of a plane for 12 days over New Year, guess what I picked! ;)

DO IT!!!!

big suitcase ;) :p i really need to see that daft punk live show again hehe. its the only tourdate left too :(

i wish i never quit my stupid job now and id probly be able to of gone, gah. :o

but i just remembered the op and no you arent mad lol . id do the same and go somewhere if i had the money as would many others
