I'll have to give you that one, but that's the 1st impression so many watts of speakers gives, no matter who you are.

only if your natural reaction to anything that you dont like (or understand) is abuse.

I've got a 12" pioneer one in mine... it cost £50, and it already goes way louder than I need, and overkill for a car IMO... I don't really feel like I need anything louder or more expensive.

Each to thier own I guess... If I had that sorta money spare, I'd but it towards a party rig - you could get a couple looney bins for a grand. :D

Yep! :D

My preference is sound quality, I never use my stereo at max volume, so I don't need more Watts.

By the way, how are your speakers meaured? RMS (the correct way) or something stupid like pk-pk.

15" subs are pretty poor for punch. They provide warbling bass, but no chance of getting a kick from them. Better spending the dosh on two very good 10"s.

It does depend on who makes the driver tho. I prefer 8" and 10"'s for a car, as there is less air to shift around in the cabin of a car.

In a house or a club tho, 15"'s and 18"'s are better as they have to move more air around.

I once sat in the Blade Ice corsa van he had several RE xxx's in a ported wall and thy where stupidly loud but sound good aswell :D

thats the guy i first bought my equipment from years ago. he had a corsa van which was in construction, he was planning to use 3 x 15inch XXX subs but i never got to hear it back in 2003 due to it still being in construction at the time.

blade ice = uk distributor for re and us amps, amongst others.

i measure in rms, or peak - peak, and sensitivity.

why everyone thinks a 15 isnt good for fast music i dont know, if it has enough power and a correct box it will move fast enough.

its all in the box. 15's are what i would like to use but not enough boot space so i went with 12's
Yep, you would need a huge box to get a decent sound out of a 15" IMO. I guess it would be fine if you had a volvo estate or something :)
