Yea, i had that message when i bought a game from there.

I didnt contact him, and it was a copy. He got banned though.

Dont touch that, it will be a copy.

You find loads of copied material on there these days. ebay don't seem to mind unless there's a complaint and I think most experienced buyers know when they're getting a copy.

I've bought a few and I've always been happy with the quality. Every single episode of Pingu for £3? Yes please.

SOUTH PARK SERIES 1

IF YOU ARE UNSURE WHAT YOU ARE BUYING PLEASE CONTACT ME, THANKS

Clearly a copy. Why would you be unsure and need to contact him, when it should 'obviously' be series 1 on DVD. Not.

It is a little harsh on the people who don't realise that it's a copy, though. I don't think that most eBay users are savvy enough to be able to spot either way every time, especially if the price is low but not unbelievably low.

Pingu is frickin' awesome! I used to love that penguin! No chance you could copy them all and send them my way for £3 would you?

He's got a fair bit of feedback now, and no mention of people saying bad things about them being copies...Still, it has to be likely though.

I'd say buy it, if it turns out to be OK then all well and good, if it's not up to scratch then make a complaint to eBay.

Edit

there are actually 2 feedback items that are interesting...

Ist disk very poor quality and 2nd disk blank.VERY POOR.

I know, ebay has become a nightmare these days, even for a wiley old cynic like me. I think piracy and general scamming is so widespread that they just can't cope and will only act on specific complaints. The system is so huge there is still a massive amount that slips through, which means sellers like this can operate in relative safety.

I once ended up with a copied XP Pro disk from ebay, it was really well done and even had the hollogramed disk. Was OEM as well and said will come with a piece of hardware to comply with MS. You need to be very careful on ebay these days.

He also comes across as being a complete arse so I wouldnt buy anything off him base purely on that alone lol

Seriously though, if you are in any doubt about an item on eBay leave it alone. He wont be the only person on the planet selling that item.

DVD's from China - pirated

Ebay is absolutely full of them, and some seller think they are being clever by claiming they are legal imports.

Nope, it's just that there are a number of poorly regulated DVD/CD replication plants in China and HK, and even if they were legal in those areas, as they are unlicenced replications they wouldn't be legal outside the country.

IIRC there used to be a number of them in Taiwan as well, but the Taiwanese governmet cracked down and forced them to do more checks on the material they were being asked to replicate.
