Hi all

Got round to fitting the GPU into the build and checked all the bits were fitted and as far as i know they are....... HOWEVER!!!

Plugged the PSU into the wall the front panel lit up so i press the power button.... Nothing!! The Stock Ryzen fan doesnt move and nothing happens

Checked:

The PSU plug is in properly
24 pin is seated properly
And as far as i know all other switches are seated fine

What can this be?
Thanks :)

trapped a wire with the gfx card

card not seated

cracked the motherboard

knocked the power button wire off the boards pins

dislodged the bios battery..

kiiled the psu.

Ive read on the internet it could be the motherboard bios needs flashing.. Could this be the case

Motherboard is Gigabyte AB350-N
CPU is Ryzen 1300x but was bought used

All other parts are brand new from OCUK only CPU is used

either way, taking the gpu back out and seeing if it will run is the best option, then check bios version,
then update, card back in and fingers crossed, can you try the gpu in another pc.

Thats the issue i have, this is the only PC i have so cant try GPU in another

Take the GPU out and try booting it (computers don't require GPUs, users do), if the system still doesn't post then it's not a GPU issue, assuming it does then hold the power button for ~3 seconds to turn it off.

Assuming that works put the GPU back in and don't connect the 8pin, it should still boot but you will either get nothing on screen or a warning that the GPU won't work properly without the 8pin (may also get a buzzer sounding).

Generally a GPU preventing the system from powering on only when it's 6/8 pin is connected indicates a physical fault with the GPU.

Right everybody....

FEEL FREE TO TAKE THE P*** OUT OF ME!!

Ive spent the last half hour trying to get this build going.. Took the whole thing to pieces and started again... Plugged all the main bits in and then i saw something that made me think "hmmm lets try that"

I didnt realise it but there is a colour co-ordinated pin thingy for the Power SW, Reset SW etc so i plugged all the switches in, took a breath

3,2,1 POWERRRRR :D:D:D

Its working... I had it all plugged in to the other F Panel pins without colours... :p

Feel like a right boob now

Thanks for all your help people :)

Haha, that sort of thing is easily done! I replaced a power supply recently, only to find out it was the power button on the computer itself :D
