Am I okay to OC my GPU with this setup?

Hey guys,

I currently have the 'SuperFlower Golden Green HX 650W "80 Plus Gold"' PSU with an i5 4690k (OC to 4.4Ghz) and I'm thinking of overclocking my Tri-X R9 290.

I'm not looking to go crazy with the overclock but I'm still unsure if my PSU is adequate. Also, if anyone has an experience overclocking one of these cards any advice/experience would also be greatly appreciated!

I overclocked my 290x and [email protected] on a 650w Antec to 1250 core, 1600 mem. So try that.

Use MSI afterburner. Something, like this:

I'd start with 1150 core, 1500 mem and work up from there.

Awesome, thanks mate. Looking at MSI Afterburner, is it safe to whack 'power limit' up to max? Did you touch the actual voltage?

Yeah, power limit to max and core voltage +100, other people go higher but as always, start low and work up.

Prepare for some hard reboots and whatever you do don't click that little windows icon in the corner so it applies at startup!

Is +100 on the core pretty safe?

Pretty sure yeah, when I was reading up on it others go higher.
