Just wondering if i am working my OCZ stealthstream II 650 too hard, system spec in sig below, the whole system is heavily overclocked and is now supporting 1 SSD and 5 Sata hdd's - i know theres calculators but i remember your not sposed to have them using over 80% of their max potential at idle or something?

TIA

Jamie

Vcore is something i spent a LONG time trying to nail, i was working out the increments that my motherboard used for cpu level up, auto overclocks, to predict what vcore i would need, its actual quite stable around 1.48V much to my suprise - i have spent so long tweaking this processor which is how i got 4.5ghz

Prime stable?
I had a beast of a chip I could bench at 4.4. LinX stable at 4375MHZ, but only 4250MHZ Prime Stable.

Just that's incredibly high and hard to believe.

Not quite prime stable yet - its prime stable about 4.2, same as you say - however 4.5 is stable for my gaming at the moment, i like to try out every day tasks on my overclocks before i start torturing them :P

Im going out to pub now but i'll do some prime testing later maybe

tackle im using 14.00x
and monster, the autoclock on this thing is amazing, this motherboard will put a fairly heavy overclock on any cpu with a push of a button, literally, theres a physical button on the board to overclock XD

You won't get 4.5GHZ Prime Stable.
And personally, running unstable OC's can cause issues.

But if you're happy to run at 4.5GHZ gaming that's entirely upto you.

And what are you using to monitor temps?

tackle, A50 in an antec 900, all fans whacked up max, great airflow, and noise isnt an issue to me, doesnt bother me :P
And yea martini i doubt i can, but its what us overclockers are all about, trying to make things work too fast XD I'll probably settle for 4.3ghz or so - cant wait for bulldozers mind

Oh and thanks btw, just making sure im not hurting my psu, ive had it since my first Quad core, dont wanna wreck it :P i have an emotional attachment to it!

very nice really wanting one for a while now(best looking mobo on the market) cheers dude, cya later

Aye monster, i really recommend it, i had the 790FX before, but it was faulty and had been causing my pc to cold boot since i got it, so i took it to overclockers, they refunded it and gave me an 890FX to replace it, got my new ssd whilst i was there too, performance upgrade from having both together is insane!

Ohh missed that CPUID H/W monitor, then noting the chip temps not motherboard temps - idle around 18-20C - Full load i cant break 40C - no idea how, my pc's cooling is beyond me

Are you monitoring the "Core temps" in HW monitor? Because they'd be wrong, and 40c is likely your chip being at 60+ and throttling.

Under WC mine was hitting 59c at 4375MHZ, and I had a cherry picked chip...
