Am I racist?

I'll start by saying I don't think I am! I think I'm open minded about most things, so why am I uncomfortable with a black players football association? Why have I always had an issue with the mobo's (music of black origin). I know there would be outrage if there was a call for an all whites football players association or a music or white origin award....so I ask do others think this way? I have many Filipino and black friends, I love them dearly, but I still feel this way. I'm part of the human race, I really don't give 2 hoots what colour you are.

Any how just my 2 pence....this world is a strange place sometimes.

no you aren't. people calling for a black players union are discriminating and as such are racist

I used to think that it was odd too, but then I considered:

- black people were historically suppressed in the western world so it's understandable why the popularity of music from the historical 'underdog class' would be celebrated.

- completely unrelated to the first point, there is factually music of black origin.

So I got over it. Seems pretty reasonable.

There really aren't any black people in Cornwall. It's odd. Only mentioned it as I noticed OP is in Hayle. You can literally go for months without seeing a single black person down here.

I have no idea why this is.

The idea is that they face special issues, which you as a white man do not.

True. Whites are not given a job based on the colour of their skin unlike the 'positive discrimination' and quota benefitees.

Only when you understand who runs the West and what their ideology is will you understand the glaring double standards and Orwellian double-think that has permeated every crevice of our civilisation.

Fair enough, and I know there is music of historical value, from the cotton plantations/slave era and such....but it still seems wrong. Maybe I see life as simple and others are over complicating it.

Also segregating a colour of people now will not solve their historical abbuse issues. It was wrong, we know but that was then and this is now.

Not to mention that White people (and any other ethnicity) can and do win Mobo Awards.......

When there is doubt, there's no doubt. But more seriously.

SEGREGATIONS BAD M'KAY...but this is our club and you whiteys can't join.

Is that so.

Maybe, but you're not their 'target audience'. The people who do not share your sentiment are. If there was no problem, there would be no need for it. Wouldn't be exactly an exclusive club either (unlike some may think). A 'white' club would pretty much be just that.

As they say, put yourself in someone's shoes.

I overheard an old lady talking about this recently. "It's the Tamar dear, they can't swim!" :o

lol

Spewed out like a true Ron Paul love child!
Your post/posts reek of prejudice, ignorance and bigotry so I think you're the last person to be lecturing people about discrimination.
Especially Moses who has explained and debunked the O.P's point/question perfectly!

The association need not exist in the long term, it will be there to act as a pressure group while racism prevails, and it's not like that is in short supply.

It's not something I would support in the long term, but if I were black, I can't imagine I would be content with the current efforts to deal with racist scum.

Of course there are going to be the detritus that blame everything they can on white oppression, but that's not an issue related to colour or race.

Same thing as in parts of Africa etc... there are no white people.

I get the Federation of Small Business newsletter and magazine through every couple of months and a while ago I saw a feature on (and I paraphrase, I can't quite remember the exact name), something like the Asian Business Awards, there was also an awards ceremony for businesswomen.

Make of them what you will.
