Am I right or wrong? GF/lease car/diesel

...and the 320D ED goes like stink!

Was convincing until then :)

To be fair it's not bad, depends on your expectations - given that she's looking at a 90/110bhp ds3 it would blow her away.

I would really ,really hate to be the second owner of a 3
and a bit year old, 10k mile 320d though!

But are they on the NHS lease scheme as Mucky said? Or are you just paying for a car and nothing more?

I imagine that Joe Bloggs will be willing to pay quite a bit of money for it though since it's ULTRA LOW MILEAGE, 1 LADY OWNER. Which to the rest of us means big bills.

Guys thats crazy prices

I work for the NHS and pay the following: -

118D M Sport Coupe BMW Extra's 18" Alloys, colour etc. = £135pm

My mate has a : -

320d ED BMW = £109PM

BMW are the cheapest on NHS lease because of the lowest emissions and the 320D ED goes like stink!

There are two different ways to get a car though - a cheap way for people like you who presumably require a car for your job. And another way which is more expensive for everyone else, like the OP?

The two figures are incomparable.

is £273 a month really that expensive all in for a new car of her choice ?

too much argument about diesel over petrol in this thread the real issue is Lease or buy.

Buying outright would be better for me for instance but I could pay cash or get cheap credit, can she ? Also my insurance would be cheap (insurance for 5 i have no idea how much that might cost for 3 years).

However leasing is safe you do have a fixed cost and for many people this is a key factor.

Is the petrol cheaper to lease than the diesel ? check dont just assume it is because of residual values it may not be.

As said, the deal isn't the greatest and DS3s are made from cheese stuck together with Gloy.

Yes they look funky and blah blah, but trust me they are AWFUL.

I am finding it hard to trust you as the one I drove was very nice.

My neighbour also has one and it has not had any issues other than her smashing into a wall :D

At the mileage suggested I would be looking at the petrol version, with so many short journeys she will be killing DPF's left right and centre.

Just to bring closure to this thread, she's returned today, in a non-leased 1.2 Twingo, will probabley fair better for the type of driving she does, and is a lot better than the death trap Saxo she had, and she's happy so :)

Haha, i'm finding that at the moment. Discovered I can get a Collins Satage 1 without any major modding. It was kind of keeping me from doing it until I had enough cash to do most of it in one go, but ~£300 for 40-60bhp is just too hard to resist. We all know where it leads from there in as well :p
