Am I stuck with it?

Guys

I have had a K800i for about 3 months and the slider has got very loose and always seems to be open in my pocket, I called Orange and they said it's cosmetic ware and tear and they can't do anything to help?

They gave me Sony E's number and said call them to see if they can help?

I will try and call them but as I don't have insurance with Orange am I now stuck with this fault

Always thought the slider on a K800i was a weak point in the design. The one on my K750i isn't brilliant either.

The K750i slider was not great by any means, but the K800i slider really takes the mickey. For me, it totally ruined the whole phone, because every time you pick up the phone you were reminded how cheap and nasty the slider at the back is.

Not really a whole lot you can do. Only thing I can suggest is:

1) Buy a silicone case. They make the slide a little harder to open
2) Opt for a K810i, I've had a play with one, and the slide systems is much better. Its not as large, and sides are "covered" kind of.

Its a common 'problem'. I wouldnt worry about it if i was you.

I know its a common problem (now I have the phone) but how can I not worry about it as it's only going to get worse I would imagine? :rolleyes:

and change to the K810i ..!!

No need for the rolleyes.
It wont get worse unless you abuse the mechanism.
I know 4 people with K800s, myself included, and we all have the 'loose slider' problem, but it hasnt gotten worse in the time we've all had the K800.
