Am i the only one not disappointed by IB?

One forum member already regrets moving from a 2500k to a 3750k.

For me, upgrading from a Q6600 it seems that unless Ivy is significantly more expensive then I'd be foolish to choose Sandy. We'll see in less than 48 hours...

Its not a simple die shrink, it's the SB logic architecture physically implemented on 3D transistors with 22nm features, with a few logic tweaks, a bigger tweak on QuickSync, and a massive tweak to the IGP.

The load power does seem lower, as it ought to be with a lower voltage. Do people buy a powerful quad and run it at idle? We can't moan about overclock headroom and then quote idle power.

The powerpoints around the net suggest a Intel $ price not above but already below SB at $212/313 which I believe should have translated to a steady avergae £170/250. Some places have been selling SB at a 10%+ discount to this. On the other hand IB might have a slight first week premium bringing i5K in at £180. Hence a large price diff at the moment.

Although benchmarking should measure SB and IB at the same clock to show IPC gain, IB models are 100Mhz ahead at stock for the same money so this is also part of the gain with IB.
