These days I just feel as if I'm forcing myself to play through games. I honestly can't remember that last game I played that I actually enjoyed. When I was younger I remember that I used to feel more immersed in games. Now I just feel nothing.

Game developers these days, in my eyes are more concerned about graphics and what not, than actual gameplay.

I do play league of legends which I guess I enjoy.. Mainly due to the social aspect of it. But single player games is another story.

Anyone else feel like this? :S It's quite sad really.

I suppose i feel the opposite. I used to love multiplayer games but now i really don't enjoy them.

But on the other hand i am enjoying single player games a lot more, somethings that really imerisive and has a tonne of potential playback

I think I feel the same! There's been a few games i've been immersed in and enjoyed.. Portal1+2 and Black Mesa spring to mind.. But other than that I seem to think more fondly of games of old!

I'm exactly the same, I buy most games that come out to try them, the only 2 games I've played for longer than about 30 mins for as long as I can remember is league of legends (aram) and sleeping dogs.

I just can't seem to get into games! I could play bf2:sf for hours on end, and not get bored. Now I just can't be bothered with the newer ones!

Get a console.

You're probably missing out on all the games that are just about gameplay and having fun, games like mario and zelda.

Get a wii/ps3/360 and enjoy some games that made you love gaming in the first place.

Feel the same and I think it's just the natural result of having played games for such a long time (started at 6 and now 31). There is the odd game I really get into (Skyrim and Walking Dead spring to mind) but for the most part I feel like I'm just killing time rather than actually enjoying them much.

To be honest I think it might just be time to admit that I've outgrown most games, my wife won't be sad to hear it! I'm sure there will still be some games I'll enjoy but most of the big titles are just so predictable now (again as the result of playing so many games that you know how developers think!).

On the upside, I've had much more time for exercise and I have a daughter who I spend loads of time with so it's actually a good thing even if I do feel a bit of sadness that my favourite hobby is losing it's shine.

Strangely enough I feel a similar feeling but I also play League of legends a lot. I find myself buying games playing them for an hour or two at most then reverting back to league so I can speak to my friends and have a few games. The only game that has kept me hooked was walking dead and even that only lasted 2 episodes.

I only really enjoy racing games now, used to love FPS' but I have played through so many I can't stand them now.

Last racing game I played was the original GRID on the ps3. A lot of my mates played it too and remember having a lot of fun with them. All teaming up on someone and knocking them off the track etc haha.

Avoid AAA games for a bit and try some indie games. They can't afford amazing graphics so concentrate on gameplay or story.
There are plenty of posts here suggesting fun games from little known developers.

I'm 36, been gaming 25 years still love it :D

Playing a variety of games stops me getting bored, been playing mainly single player games lately, sometimes I complete them and sometimes I don't.

I've pretty much stopped wanting to play multiplayer games altogether, even though I have a habit of just picking games up and getting pretty good quick. It's just not as engaging and fun as a good story from an RPG. I'm more of a single player man myself these days. The only games i'll play online now are co-op games like Torchlight 2 and the occasional game of Chivalry if a friend is playing, if not, no.

I know exactly what you mean... feeling the same these days.

Games just don't give me the feeling any more like Quake 2 did when I spawned in the first room, the music kicked in, 110% atmosphere. A lot of it IMO is the on a rail, very 1-2 dimensional level design due to console influences, publishers not wanting to take changes and the development time needed to build content at todays level of detail - so often you just don't get the ambitious sprawling 3 dimensional levels like in Quake 2, Unreal 1/tournament, etc. any more.

I've always gone off gaming every so often and realised a long time ago a lot of games waste your time, id much rather have a good story and depth, so many games waste you're time now with unnecessary extras, the constant need to level and get that next item or powerup has grown tiresome, its a cheap way of extending game play while making the player think they're gaining something but it's a hollow experience and waste of time at the end of the day.

If you enjoy it great but all the small gains and hats in the world don't mean a thing, i find it all a chore now, i can't even stand travelling and dying in a game any more, it feels pointless and isn't a real challenge, i just want to get on and enjoy what story there is, which is usually pretty weak these days.

the problem i have at the moment is msot of my online mates ive played games with over the years just dont seem to play/try new games or never wanna play. So its like, no banter, people to talk to while gaming gets me bored. Like im PC gaming first before consoles but my real life mates play consoles so im tempted to play them just for the social aspect as thats what gaming is about imo. However its so hard to go from PC to console... lol

I haven't found much enjoyment in single player games for a long time, to me they just feel linear and predictable. I far more enjoy multiplayer games, even if I'm not that great at them sometimes. The multiplayer environment brings an element of unpredictability to the game that you just can't replicate in single player games and for me this is what makes it enjoyable, that and the social aspect.

That said I recently bough FTL: Faster Than Light in the Steam sale, and it's amazingly good - highly recommend it.

I'm personally looking forward to Elite: Dangerous and really hoping it a) gets made, and b) lives up to its potential

Feel the same really, i just play TSW now, nice cabal and all that folk to talk to on vent when doing instances or just pottering about.

For some reason the clan feel of years gone by in FPS games is no longer there, (RTCW and ET) for me. I tried BF3 and its just to many people and the vehicles **** me off. I liked COD hardcore SnD but that seems to be full of cheaters at least on PC nowdays.

Just remake RTCW/ET with better graphics god dammit.
