AM2 5000+ ETA?

urm can i ask why you are going the am2 route? when the 5000+ is £223 and you could get a conroe 6400 or even the 6600 both blow this out of the water and the 6400 is considerably cheaper!

Yeah, unless you specifically want to go the am2 path for futureproofing, for that money you could get a very good conroe rig (assuming you need to buy mobo etc.) Tbh the only worthwhile am2's are the cheap x2's, but even then for the price you can almost get a 6300

perhaps he already has an AM2 setup and is looking for a new cpu.

maybe so, hence y i asked all i did was give him the facts of if he hasn't got a am2 setup, i don't know this! i'm just curious as to if he has got a am2 setup why he went that route instead of holding out for conroe as 95% of other people have done! i'm just wandering if he knows something we don't lol, no need to dig at me fella!
