AM3+ (AMD FX chips) OC Guide?

Think I speak for every one when I say we're all still really interested in seeing this guide.
I know you've got a lot on but have you made any more progress with it?

I have not looked at this for a while no. I did quite abit before though, so I can revisit. I have had a massive amount on and have not done much testing other than Systems stuff in the office for a while.

Since I started this thread I've bought 1 motherboard and 2 new CPUs (4670K and then a 4770K), but that wasn't really due to the wait. I did get to 4.5GHz but had to disable CnQ and all that so the CPU ran at full speed at 1.45v (I think) constantly. My motherboard just would not play ball with offset voltages with my FX-8350 at all. Was fine with my 1055T though!

Not sold the bits yet though so may revisit if Mantle proves to be the game changer (pun intended) that it's being hyped as.

Check out the thread in CPU, fair enough not 8pack uber settings but we are getting 4.9 - 5ghz results prime stable.

My chip is like a 5ghz-5.1. Did not bin at all just tested Gibbo's sample and one I had for si. The first one is 4.9 Prime stable.

I think what the AMD guys need more than frequency is memory timings and speeds info.

As you say memory timings would be great as currently just running AUTO.

Hi 8pack,

Looking forward to your OCing tweaks with the FX series chips, never OCed myself before but will be dipping my toe in soon so will be following this thread with a keen eye indeed!

I've read a few threads on HWbot and it seems there is a superPI patch that enhances the FX single thread ability. Do you know much about this?

Ps - if that's you in your avi...you even lift lol cracking physique mate!

It things like new cards arrival that delay me working on guides. I need to test the new cards all the way upto LN2 and integrate into my systems. 780 ti is next so no rest anytime soon.
