AM3+ board

If you want memory higher than 1866mhz you could easily overclock it to the higher speed

The memory controllers on the Phenom II and FX processors are upto 1866mhz. Many boards, especially 990fx boards, like the Crosshair Formula V allow you to overclock beyond this. The Sabertooth 990fx is not one of these, literally allowing you max memory speeds of 1866mhz. You will get 50-100mhz tops more out of it, if your lucky.

This board is pretty good, I upgraded to this board and ddr3 ram last month. Its well specced and has more upgrade options such as more ram and Crossfire OR Sli than the old one. I didnt need to upgrade the processor( amd pII 945 )as its fast enough for the time being, but i now have a future upgrade path with the CPU and if i get my hands on a cheap second hand 460gtx i can sli for cheap.
I bought this board over a cheaper one as it was better specced and its going to be the base for my system for a few years. It looks good as well in the case being mostly black too ...

Hope that helps

I pretty much want to do the same, I have around £300 now so I am going for a good board. Was thinking of getting the Piledriver 8350 also but Im not sure how it will run with my memory.
Can anyone tell me if my current memory will run ok with the 8350?

I have*G.Skill*Ripjaw 8GB (2x4gb) 12800CL9 and
G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM)

Ok as there were no replies today and I decided to get the board before Easter, I have ordered the Asus Crosshair.
Will use my existing bits for now and upgrade as I get the funds.
Thanks for your help guys, no doubt I will be around asking advice in the near future :)

Good choice, the board has helped me achieve some nice overclocks (prime stable over 5.2) on an 8150 and an 8350 when it struggled past 4.8GHz on my previous Asus and asrock boards.
