Hi there,

Im currently have problems controling the fans in my PC.

The motherboard in my PC is a MATX board with only 2 fan headers and came out of a bitfenix prodigy M case (board will go back in there when I upgrade my Scout II motherboard)

It is used for streaming so I wont need to run SLI/crossfire etc.

Looking to spend under £100 as I don't game on it so can't justify £150 ish for higher end one.

I did look at the MSI 970 gaming but I just wondered if anyone has any other better recommendations? Im trying to go for a black/red theme also.

Thanks

EDIT: MSI 970A SLI Krait Edition HAS USB 3.1. Worth getting that and going for a black/white theme? :D

if your fans are pwn then use this if your only problem is fan headers

if you must get a new board because you have an 8 core i would this the MSI is where you need to be as a minimum

i cant see any info on the Krait Edition power phase set up but i would think it will be ok.... but i dont know 100%
Edit: the Krait only as a 4+1 power phase i would not get that board for an 8 core cpu. the MSI is 6+2 and i would think thats the base point for your cpu

tbf that is also a 4+1 power phase so not the best but if its working for your needs and not stepping the cpu speed dowe due to heat i would also just get a controller.

The cable i linked turns one PWM header into 3 and it can be linked with others to make an infinet number of fan headers all running on PWM. i use a few of them in my builds

Thanks for the reply.

The current motherboard im using is the "Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3" which is budget.
Im tempted to just buy a fan controller

Just buy a fan controller it's really not worth investing into am3+, considering the 78lmt is good enough and with future amd/intel offerings this year.
