will amd release new cpus that use the am3 socket? im thinking of getting one but if i cant get a signifigant upgrade without a new mobo i might not. how powerfull will the new am3's get? thanks

all new CPU's frm AMD will be on AM3 for the forseable future, also in roughly a year DDR3 will be more mainstream which is what AM3 adds to the mixture

I've noticed that lots of the OC DDR3 sets comes in 3 x 2GB amounts. Don't you need an even amount of sticks in the motherboard, or is this some myth I've picked up on?

go for dual channel ddr3. though i guess if your mobo could probably have 6 slots in dual channel? in wich case 2X3 would work

Heh, I was thinking if you and two mates were going AM3 then you could maybe buy two Tri-Channel kits and divvey them up for your three dual-channel DDR3 systems! :p

or just 2 m8s. i buys two lots of 3 sticks and one lot of two then split the money/ ram in half. anyone wanna go halfs :)?
