Amaretto - Anyone else tried it?

My wife gets Amaretto from time to time but i'd never tried it until last night. It always smelled too sickly, it a very sweet liquer that tastes like marzipan. However, I tried it last night with coke and ice and it's like summer in a glass

If you get a chance give it a try

You can make an alcoholic 'Dr Pepper' with Amaretto, lager and coca cola (1 shot, half pint and half pint). Other than that I don't really like it although Amaretti biscuits are great.

Amaretto in desert is great, as a drink it sucks apart from one or two cocktails which I can't remember.

use 2 shots otherwise its a bit weak

Its really nice on Ice cream

or with fresh lemon juice + Orange Juice

I'll be honest and admit I don't even like ordinary Dr Pepper much but whenever I've had it in bars it has only ever been 1 shot that you knock into the glass as a depth charge then down it before the fizz disappears. I may have to take your advice though for the future and try two shots.

I will happily drink straight amaretto, its delicious!

Alchi-Dr. Pepper is scrummy.

yeah make a "godfather" - wild turkey, amaretto, (shot of each) coke, loads of ice. used to love that when i worked in a bar - goes down real easy!

I used to drink this all the time, either with coke or redbull, depending in what mood I was in.

I like it with cola. Didn't realise that you needed to add lager for it to qualify as an alcholic Dr Pepper though... I just thought it was 2x shots + cola.
