Amazing colour footage of WW2 combat.

WOW some epic images! Some of those are shown in the World at war TV series, but i haven't seen many.

When I watch that I cant help but think what horrible creatures humans are :(
 
how do they actually turn back and white to colour?
Agreed some great imagery. Its weird, when i look at it in colour it feels slightly less authentic compared to watching the old black and white films in history lessons. Seems almost film like
 
Nothing amazing about a generation being wiped out and living that way, Absolutely nothing amazing. Thank god my granddad was taken as a POW Singapore and survived, I could not of existed if other wise, I call it fate.

I don't think any one meant. Wow look at that, thats so cool all those people dying. If anything the horror that it is and the power which they hold and, hopefully, distil into us. War is stupid

I think there is some footage from WW2 thats actually shot in color... but don't quote me on that...

You can process black and white (greyscale) film to reproduce the effect of it having color but a lot of it is just tinting areas with likely color... sky is obviously blue, a roof will likely be a shade of reddish brown, skin well skin colored, etc.
 
Some of it is kinda humbling... watching people stroll through the surf unflinching while real bullets are flicking up spray inches from them... continuing with commited purpose.
 
But its not stunning, we look at WW2 as some great war, that it was fought be amazing men, it was not it was fought by you and me, every conflict since then we have had an trained armya and well trained it, seeing people burnt to death is noting compared to what our forces did/do to "enemy", nobody should ever see that but god.

Well thats the thing... many of the people who fought in WW2 were just like you and me... except today most people would run away cacking themselves as an over generalisation back then they got on and got it done.
 
Nice footage. I always find the past wars fascinating, doesn't mean I'd like us to have any more...

And blatently since colouried sadly. I would have personally preferred it in black and white.

Still interesting though. Thanks for sharing Tefal. :)
