'Amazing' games that disappointed you

Lots of things come to mind but the first one that did was Halo 3. My first Halo title and what a let down.

Doom 3 on the PC was massive let down as well after all the hype surrounding it.

Witcher 3 is the only game that has a lot of like that I didn't like much and annoyed me much.
I almost didn't bother to finish 2 for all the things that annoyed me about it but I had high hopes for 3. I did finish 3 but there was so much I didn't like about it. I could list all the things but I won't.

Yeah came to say The Witcher 3.

I just couldn't get into it, once it opened up a little I think I just felt overwhelmed and didn't know which way to go. Put it down never to try again. Not had that happen before with that type of game and it's one of my fav genes.

MGS5. For the obvious reasons. What an incomplete game. It's obvious that the game was developed while Kojima fell out with Konami and the latter took more control and made BS additions to the game (like micro-transactions). And yet I still love it and enjoyed 'most' of the 180+ hours I invested into it.

Uncharted 2 disappointed me a little, if only for the combat. It feels a slight bit worse than UC1, just due to the enemy types in that game. But overall, I still enjoyed it.

Battlefield 4 disappointed me when I found out the multiplayer was much more akin to a free-to-play game than a proper $60 release. I've enjoyed actual free-to-play FPS more than Battlefield 4 multiplayer so far... that said, I've played very little BF4 multiplayer.

MGS:5 as well. I'm a huge MGS fan and while 5 was a very good game on it's own it didn't feel like an MGS game and it's pretty obvious it was unfinished.

BF4 had launch problems but it's still a great MP experience and a ton of content. Not sure you can knock something you've hardly played.

Fallout 3. Tried to get into it three or four times. Every time I tried I got to Megaton, found I couldn't really do a lot because my skill level at this or that wasn't high enough and got bored.

Can consoles be a part of this too?

My PS3 was the biggest dissapointment I've ever purchased, Aside from Uncharted most of the first party games I bought were completely lacklustre, most notably Killzone, it was very generic and the controls were atrocious.

I got used out of the Blu ray player, that's about it.

Thing that let me down with Bioshock Infinite was the gratuitous gore, it was just so jarring and unecessary, right at the beginning when you're just starting and you tear that guys head off, I was like "wtf why I am I ripping people's heads off their shoulders???".

The rest of the story was incredible, but there were some really bizarre choices in there, and the combat was wooly and unsatisfying. First two Bioshocks were much better gameplay wise.

It was so jarring I stopped right there, I've never played it since. It just felt completely out of place, and it wasn't even a choice, the game takes control to shove something right into a bloke's neck.

I never got on with Skyrim tbh. Overall it was too big and too slow. You needed to literally spend a lifetime playing it to get much out of it. Just felt like there was too much to deal with, weapons, potions, spells etc. It all got a bit much.

As for people saying Ocarina of time. Sorry, but as far as I'm concerned, Ocarina of time and Goldeneye were worth the price of an N64 alone. With a bit of ISS soccer thrown in for good measure.

You just made me realise that i didn't mean Ocarina of Time earlier on.

I was thinking of the Zelda game that was released when the Wii launched. Twilight Princess I think it was. That was a boring piece of rubbish.

Thought of another one. Far Cry 2, 3 and 4. The last two were alright, but nothing compares to the original which is one of the best games of all time.

With you on this one, the first was stunning visually and pushed the limits - though I gave up when the aliens/monsters turned up. The rest never did much for me.
