Guy in my street a right dodgy dealer has 3 cars, and 1 tax disk, swaps it over to different cars leaving the other cars in the street taking up parking spaces.

Phone up dvla line. That car is showing as taxed yes but the other two heaps are not and he keeps swapping the disk over. and leaving the other ones months in end taking up spaces with no tax or insurance for months.

Can they do anything...nope.
Can the council do anything...nope.
can the police do anything...nope only if we catch him driving it with no tax.

So we just have to put up with this dodgy dole monger swappin tax on 3 cars, taking up spaces for months and with no insurance on any of them. :o

Why do we bother to pay for insurance and tax tbh.

CCTV :) take a picture of him using the 3 cars with 1 tax disk?

Quite shocked as the old dvla seem tight on the whole car tax malarkie! ... or thought they were

Nope reported the other two aswell. Yes we will send an enforcement agent round...two months ago. never seen any notes on the cars or anything. still does it. I thought they would want to clamp down as you said they are always banging on about it. police were not interested that hes driving 3 cars uninsured either.

he comes in and out the street at about 40mph so when he finally does hit a child at least he will be caught then :D

Have a word with the police, they might choose to take their dinner break down the end of your street one day and catch him at it.

That type of thing is all the lazy ******* are interested in anyway.
They will probably send an armed response unit.

If this guy is trading from Home, report him to the Tax office? He's probably more likely to be dodging Income Tax etc..

I'm sure if they got involved, that'd be far worse then anything DLVA would do!

If he is leaving cars on the road without tax then that is the offence comitted - he doesn't have to be found driving them.
You have two options with tax, either you pay it or you SORN.
So any vehicle parked on the street either without tax or SORN is comitting an offence.

I found DVLA most helpful when I last reported an untaxed vehicle.
Within a week the car had totally vanished from the side of the road and was never seen in the area again.

If he hit a child they'd end up ignoring the whole tax thing and when he's only banned becasue his speed can't be proven he will go back home and just drive without tax, insuranceand a license. At least, thats what most of these selfish low lifes do.

Of course swapping insurance around might cover them, but only one at a time. If all three were total losses, he'd not be covered for two. Just a theoretical point...

Im supprised they are not interested in 2 cars sitting on the road without tax. Im also supprised he hasnt been caught out by an ANPR camera yet. I can swear there was a chap on here awhile ago who was payed a visit by the DVLA because he made the mistake of asking if it was ok to put an un-taxed car of his on the side of the road for a short period of time.

How is he getting away with this? I thought they had a list of all un-taxed cars? Just like the advert says "We don't need to look here..."

Swapping the tax disc becomes fraud, a far greater offence than simply failing to display or have tax, shop him on those grounds.
