Hey,

(I couldn't see this anywhere else on the forum).

But I like using Amazon pay over 5 months policy for certain things that I cannot get online, weather is OCUK or somewhere else.

I contacted Amazon today to confirm, and yes, its official, they stopped this service a few days ago! :(

Worked great and was seamless to check everything in your account (payments etc.).

Gutted tbh, just means I will need a little more patience and save up beforehand! :)

There’s lots of options for 3 month payments now though. But it was a handy feature.

I bet they was getting knocked too much. There didn’t seem to be any credit agreement involved at all, purely trust.

It’s still showing for me though. Also showing me another option on expensive items like cameras and TV’s that allows me to spread over 12 months. Never seen that before.

I wonder if it's "stopped" or it's "stopped" being offered if you hit a certain number of active purchases with it, IIRC there was a warning a while back about this type of credit because some companies were basically just letting people do it all the time, so it might well be that Amazon have decided that once you've got X amount owed or Y number of concurrent payments for different purchases they'll put a hold on offering it to customers (or offer a different payment scheme).

I've used it in the past, and used the 12 month option for a new phone today. Seemed to all go through well enough. It's the amazon version I used, not the barclays underwritten thing

5 month option is usually max 3 purchases

I dont understand it. Still nothing here!

I have never missed a payment, and not renewed anything in several weeks, and only a few days ago the option is no longer there?

Not like I have "used up any allowance"? Strange, not that I need it but it was a good system that was implicated well, and monitoring everything was a breeze.

Perhaps someone could link an item that has it on for them and see if it shows for you too?

as an example though..

I ALWAYS was offered the 5 month plan on a Elite Series 2 XBOX controller, tried that and nope!

and some others saved in my list, all back to "one off payment"?

I might phone then and say whats happening, but have some "friends" who have no issue with this service.

Here we go

Thats showing a 5 monthly option for me.

I used it quite a few times to soften the blow on large ticket items, I noticed it stopped offering it on a lot of items that it previously would have, I noticed this a few months back when I was looking for a new laptop. Its still showing for quite a number of items for me, but not the type of stuff i'm interested in buying...
