Pretty sure you can't do that, only the new Amazon fire box with Alexa built in can do this.

The Logitech harmony hub will play with Alexa and act as a remote control for your devices. I voice control my virgin box and tv through it.

Yeah, this is basically what i have asked.

How did you set this up Tom?

It’s all pretty straightforward out of the box from Logitech. You might need to programme some activities etc if you want to have control over more than one device at a time (“turn on the television” for me switches the TV to the correct input, turns on my stereo and changed the input and switches on virgin media). Buy a Logitech harmony hub and have a play. It’s not totally foolproof but once it’s working it’s pretty good.

The Hamry remotes are often on offer at Amazon, they had the Ultimate (touchscreen with hub) for £80 the other day, and the hub with basic remote can be found at times for about £50.

One of the things I like about them is you can use any old android phone/table as the remote interface as well:)
I'm disappointed I've never seen anyone build a tablet, Alexa and Harmony Humb into a "Captains chair" for their Star Trek themed home cinema :D

With smartphones/tablets seemingly coming out of our ears at home I figured that I'd only need the hub. If they're genuinely only £50 I might get another one to put in my media cupboard - can the app deal with more than one at a time? I dread to think how confused Alexa would get with two hubs.

We're having our living room re-done at some point this year... tempting to build in a tablet somewhere to control lighting and media.
