I've had an Amazon Fire Tablet stolen and need help. It was stolen from my house along with other items. I need help tracking the tablet that's registered to my Amazon account.

The tablet was not password protected (stupid I know) but the only hings logged in were Facebook, Amazon Music and Amazon.

I have checked on Facebook and it was used to login to my Facebook account late last night. I have also been on Amazon devices page and tried find device that said it was located iny town but no more precise information, at that time the device was not online.

I have requested data on the Fire tablet viia Amazon data request, I'm still waiting on the email with the data. ChatGPT saiid this data might contain the IP address of who accessed it

I've not deregister the table yet as I wish to track it.

I have thought about telling Amazon on the phone or web chat, but if I do not sure if they will.automatically deregister. The tablet was stolen within last 3 days but only noticed a few hours ago. I have not told police yet as it's a family member done it and trying get evidence from the tablet first.

I need advice. Thank you for reading.

Make a note of the serial number, found in the app and pass that onto Amazon + any local cash converter type places.

Especially if you have left it logged in to Amazon. They could buy stuff using your saved payment details and have it sent to them.

Btw it's a pretty poor act if a family member has took it.

I would deregister the tablet ASAP if you value your data regardless of password change.

Some great family members you have there !

Thanks for the replies. The Amazon table has been found in my house.

The situation is family members are helping with an estate after one of my parents died and some items missing that were transferred from parents house to mine and tablet was in the same area so I assumed the worst.

But combined with above I was staying at my gf's overnight and I noticed my tablet was logging onto Facebook and Amazon about every 4 hours, and assumed someone had taken it and using it. After investigation what happens is a fire tablet.wakes up from sleep every so often to check data, then sleeps again, and this was causing .the Facebook login.

I am now going to set a password on the table, so at least I learn something from this.

Thanks for your understanding.
