Who are Amazon Logistics? Is this Amazon's own branded delivery company with their own branded vans and drivers? Or do they just use riff raff in clapped out transits to deliver parcels on a self-employed basis like what Yodel and Herps do? Or are they just Yodel/Herps in disguise?

Just had my Amazon parcel delivered by them (according to tracking). They just left it on my door step full view of the road, no knock and no card through the door. They signed the tracking off as being handed to me.

If it's still there on your doorstep when you return, job a good 'un.

If it dissappears, quick call to Amazon for a refund or get another one sent out.

They marked the tracking as handed to LeeUK. Amazon will just say I'm lying and trying to scam a freebie.

When DPD left my parcel last year in a completely random person's bin they didn't exactly do anything about it. I only didn't take it further as the random person turned up with my parcel a few days later.

I actually did a day working for "Amazon Logistics", well one of the many companies they source the work out too.

It's a horrible job, £100 a day, 6 days a week and then you are expected to pay £150 per week to rent the van. You'd have to be at the warehouse at about 5/6AM to queue up and hope you got there early enough to be given a route. You'd then start loading the van at 7AM and be expected to be out delivering at 7:15AM. You would be finished whenever you had delivered all of your parcels, this could be as late as 6/7PM depending on your route and load.

Everyone is classed as a self employed driver so the companies couldn't care less about the guys doing the delivering.

Is it compulsory that you hire a van for £150 a week, could you not use your own van?

It might sound like hard work but what you described would probably suit some people, especially folk in low paid jobs. £600 a week driving around and without a boss on your shoulder would be ideal.

So on Wednesday they "delivered my parcel with a neighbour" "signed for by John Smith (name change)" none of my neighbours are called John. And the parcel was no where to be seen! So got onto Amazon and complained, as I do about once a month...

Because John's real name was not very usual and am near a university I looked them up on google and they appeared!

So Amazon Logistics delivered to Flat 1/2 2 Street Name opposed to Flat 2/1 12 Street Name. How is that even possible?

Well this Flat 1/2 2/1 business is enough to confuse anyone. Whats that all about?

In the past CDs and DVDs etc were delivered by RM in letterbox sided packaging and all the postie had to do was slip it through my letterbox. I didn't have to be at home either when this happened.

Now they use bigger packaging which no longer fits through the letterbox so the Amazon Logistics courier has to leave it with a neighbour 5 doors down the street. Talk about going backwards.
