Amazon's been pretty good for me with dispatches made that day and deliveries made by themselves or RM usually the following or next day. It's especially good considering that I live in the Highlands and don't have to pay a £15+ surcharge that many companies charge to post here.
I've ordered three things from Amazon this month and they've arrived about a week after I've placed the order. I'm in Jersey so once they leave Amazons warehouse and are handed over to Royal Mail they make their way down to Portsmouth then spend the day crossing the channel on the freight boat and usually arrive at the local carrier that evening. They then go out for delivery the next day usually.
Amazon’s shocking service to the Channel Islands. Why is it when placing an order it takes 6 days before it’s even dispatched. Yet if it’s sent to a UK address it is dispatched as early as the same...
I’ve got no complaints usually things arrive pretty quickly after they’ve been despatched. The tracking shows the progress, it arrives at an Amazon facility first then once it leaves that facility it’s handed to Royal Mail who drive it down to Portsmouth.
Then it’s on the Mail boat for the day crossing the channel, arrives at Guernsey first then on to Jersey. Then arrives at Jersey Post headquarters that night and is out for delivery next day.
It seems to be quicker than it used to be when things were flew in by aircraft.
