Amazon Prime Day

There's a Chrome plugin that puts a graph directly into the Amazon product listing. Much easier than camel :) Fairly sure that marks lightning deals too.
That's what I use. https://keepa.com is essential for Amazon "deals".

I did end up grabbing an iPhone 8 as my SE's battery doesn't last a full day now (nail in the coffin was at the F1 when it died before Lewis came round for his victory lap), and some other bits and bobs that I'd been holding off on purchasing.

Most of the items I've checked over the last few days were the same price elsewhere, minor decreases only, more expensive than previous offers or showed a small increase just before prime day and then a reduction.

I used to always buy on Prime Day but I don't trust them anymore, neither do I have to time to look through the awful interface they use.

You wouldn't ever trust them, hence people use Camel, as for the interface, that's just nitpicking. It's fine, so much so everyone else kinda copies their layout. I remember it being the same back in the 90's....yes, I used Amazon in the 90's when it only sold books. It has evolved a lot but the basics of it hasn't changed much.

Got the Fitbit Versa SE for the wife at a great price, about £30 cheaper than elsewhere on the web, apart from somebody on eBay. However, with Amazon's excellent returns and service, the potential savings from eBay weren't woth it.

With Amazon directly yes...both products checked and both warranties with manufacturers lasting the full term so no issues there :)

It's worth a cursory check before purchase; does the manufacturer offer a transferable warranty? And do they tend to use the serial number to check warranty status? Most of the big manufacturers just check the serial number to validate the warranty and don't really care where the item was purchased.

On the other hand, that's not true in every category (PC components, for example). Nor is it true of all manufacturers. Some will want proof of purchase. Some of them can be duped by a simple screen shot of the Amazon "View Order Details" page, while others will want a proper invoice.

Samsung et all generally couldn't care less.

name me one site that has a sort by price which doesn't actually sort cheapest to expensive other than amazon?

it's designed to make you purchase what they want you to purchase rather than what you want to purchase based on correct filtering and sorting.

I missed out on an ultrawide monitor as they ran out and removed it from my basket.
Same happened with a Garmin fenix 5+

Ended up getting the Fenix 5 and a Ring doorbell with Dot for £119.

I've personally never failed to find anything i am looking for, and I buy a LOT of stuff from there.

Lol. Search for 'camel' in the CDs & Vinyl section and tell me it doesn't return ornaments from the Home and Kitchen section. Or search for Bon Jovi and smile when you see sponsored links to beach socks (!) It's not really about whether you can find what you're looking for or not, it's about how much nonsense gets thrown in to the search results...and don't get me started on sorting by Avg. Customer review...

Okay.

It doesn't. Not sure why yours is like that.

Didn't buy anything.
Not a prime member, but kept an eye out in case I wanted anything.

Strange feeling seeing these things come up and not wanting them..

I bought a new mouse and keyboard.

About it.... only because my current mouse is 12 years (razer deathadder) old and my keyboard is 5.

Both still work but ofc in a well worn condition.....

Just tried this and got to page 7 before I saw an item that wasn't a CD or Vinyl and that was a VHS. Carried on but gave up after 15 pages of results that were all CDs or vinyls. Not sure why yours wouldn't return the same results

Not newest.... But the best from a couple of years ago should be on offer. They were a few years ago

Again, it's not going to be everything a couple of years old. Your expectations are simply set too high. As I said, far from 'a joke' that you suggest.
