Amazon refusing to refund for wrong item delivered that I returned.

I've called them many times and can't get through. Also requested call back but they don't call.

I'd start the process with your card provider but keep trying to get in touch via the phone with Amazon, even if it's just a call back request every couple of days.

Unfortunate as I've never had anything but stellar service from Amazon CS when I've needed it, it's one of the reasons I use the platform as extensively as I do if I'm honest. Hopefully your case is just a hiccup due to current events bud, sucks for you though and I do hope you get things sorted out.

Amazon aren't calling back? I called them a couple of days ago, it was instant.

This is my experience, I've even asked for them to contact me on the phone via their internet support forms and I've been connected within minutes. The people you speak with generally bend over backwards, albeit with a little pushing at times to get the most out of them depending on the issue.

Assuming it came direct from Amazon that would be a challenge - security at the warehouses is meant to be very very heavy (at similar non-amazon facilities I've visited in the past - pat downs and metal detectors to get on or off the floor were required)

It's all very puzzling, maybe order picker just made a mistake and sent wrong items, i did mention this to an agent and they said it's impossible for wrong item to be delivered.

The security when I worked at the warehouse for a while few years back was hardcore but I knew a security guard who left smaller items like cpus and ssds by back doors and did his rounds and collected them. Quite a few cheeky cheap upgrades to all his mates but this was about 5 years back :D

I used to work at a large distribution centre that had cameras everywhere, security walking about the place and each time you left the building you were patted down and wanded. Never stopped us nicking all manner of stuff.

I know a security guard who was teaming up with a worker to smuggle hardware out the back doors. Got caught eventually, they were going for laptops.

Thank you. Yes i've always had great customer support from Amazon in past too, that's why i've used them so much before. I'll have to video record me opening box's of higher value items in future, i'm going to try and buy elsewhere though.

Just had live chat with them asking for call back but they're having technical problems currently and to get back to them later. I also tried calling them just now but line is busy.

Wish i could attach images of my live chat in here but not sure how to.

this sounds like a clicker scam, refund. Amazon have been onto this for a while and security electronic tag process changed. If the op has genuine history of shopping with amazon and no issues then raise once more on twitter and senior manager otherwise then I would suggest credit card route for a refund

Funny that that happened to you. Sorry to hear getting the refund is such a PITA though.

My mum sent my wife and I an advent calendar each. Some random book and some Dynamo labels turned up. They won’t refund her until I return them, which I get but they literally have no idea they sent us the wrong stuff. I could send them a pile of **** and get a refund.

Calling them up has always worked perfectly for me.

You could just take screenshots and upload them to an image host if you really wanted, bit of a faff but it would work.

Why not ask for replacement phone to be sent; maybe that's the issue here.
Ordered something, got something else. Send back something with lesser value, asked for a refund.

I suspect that's the issue here, albeit your right to get a refund :)

Not so Amazed they wont refund you, ive had a problem before where they point blank refused to refund me for a faulty product, untill i produced a chat log from a previous amazon customer service agent promising me a refund if i returned the item.

That reminded me when I had to use the live chat about 6 weeks ago:

When saving live chat to HTML, make sure you do it just before the conversation ends. When the agent finishes off with "is there anything else I can do for you?" and you say "no, all good thanks", the chat window closes automatically, meaning that you lose the audit trail. So make sure you save the chat just before that last line!

Could please tell me more about clicker scam, refund?

As a contrast, we were sent a box of Canon eos cameras and they won't accept a return because we never ordered them in the first place.

Genius.

had this a few years back,

ordered an AIO cooler and got a lunch box instead,

tad miffed at the time but saw the funny side of it, in fairness it was sorted within a couple of days iirc

Not as good as yours, but similar. I ordered a Nintendo Switch game (Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening) and 2 copies of it arrived. I queried it on live chat and they weren't interested because I only ordered 1 copy and that was what it said on their system. So it was similar to you PiKe regarding a non-existent item. In the end, I kept 1 copy (as I wanted that game anyway) and then I sold the extra copy on eBay as new/unopened, and bought Super Mario Party from the proceeds, both games being around £35.

I don't think I've ever had shipping shenanigans with wrong items showing up, and I've ordered quite a lot of stuff!

Kind of looking forward to the day when my order is wrong so I can see what I wind up with, but Amazon in particular always seem to get it right.
