Amber Rudd fails to understand the internet

It was a very simply put statement. Why put so much of a strain on our civil liberties based on thing that doesnt cause that much of a problem.

that's true, for example there's the ol' statistic of suicide rates vs terrorism rates in paris, and how even when the gunmen were still running loose you were 400x more likely to be killed by yourself than by a terrorist....

I read a study from an Oxford Uni recently that said you are 11 times more likely to be killed by a policeman than a terrorist.

Due mainly to the fact that there are so many more police about compared to terrorists. Also something to do with the way the police can drive and the perils of being over-zealously restrained by the aforementioned bobby or two.

I think there is a serious possibility that we would have better government in this country if we randomly chose the PM and cabinet in a lottery every few years.

The more the state heads towards 1984, the more I think that it's THEM who are carrying out the muslamic terrorist attacks to further their agenda.

Whilst that's obviously extreme tin foil hat stuff, I doubt there's much stopping them if they really wanted to... Money and power over everything with these people.

Granted I was a bit OTT there, the whole things still smacks of Nanny May. Her new nickname I saw on Encyclopaedia Dramatica today :D

In the UK, the Parliament giveth and taketh away, as far as rights go. You do realise that in two years' time, May will be completely free to introduce a British Bill of Rights - her Home Office dream - and redefine privacy to suit? This was always doable of course, but for now Brexit talks and potential IndyRef 2 take priority.

You're probably more qualified than me to discuss it, however - my understanding is that Parliament can indeed giveth and taketh away as they wish, and they do this all day long as a matter of routine, however I *thought* that the Supreme Court was in ultimate control, in that it can "strike down" anything passed by parliament... however I'm struggling to find whether I'm right or wrong on this,

The other problem is we are largely restricted to voting the same people back into power, spoilt ballot, etc. doesn't really do anything. Be interesting to see what would happen if there was a vote entry for "I don't believe this is working" rather than a political party and force some kind of upheaval of our political system.

That was UKIP wasn't it?

Would be quite interesting to see if there was an option as such.

There are times i think that some of these things seem to be allowed to happen.

e: I include Europe and elsewhere in the above.

“What I’m saying is the best people who understand the technology, who understand the necessary hashtags to stop this stuff even being put up, not just taking it down, are going to be them. That’s why I would like to have an industry-wide board set up where they do it themselves.”

Necessary hashtags

Dear god.

she clearly needs someone to write a GUI in Visual Basic to track the terrorist's IP address:
