Ambers

153 points for the loose :(

I have no idea what instructions these cores use, I just wanted to moan about the low pointage i get from them.

If your crunching them - look in the logs following the initialisation of the new WU it should say something like

[05:40:54] Protein: p964_fk-fstr-nprot-r
[05:40:54]
[05:40:54] Writing local files
[05:40:54] Extra SSE2 boost OK.
[05:40:55] Writing local files
[05:40:55] Completed 0 out of 100000 steps (0)

If the SSE2 line is not their it's not running (I think)

Check and post your results please.

How can you complain about low PPDs with Ambers?

-- Capricorn --

Min. Time / Frame : 18mn 39s - 118.13 ppd
Avg. Time / Frame : 18mn 59s - 116.06 ppd

-- NewsI --

Min. Time / Frame : 14mn 27s - 152.47 ppd
Avg. Time / Frame : 16mn 40s - 132.19 ppd

Capricorn is a highly borked XP1700 that's having to run at stock until I can sort it out and NewsI is the newsmeister Barton XP2500 at stock as the motherboard is rubbish

Maybe it's just Intel machines (not including the Duo of course :p) that don't like these much as my SocketA machines are lapping them up quite happily - remember the benchmark machine is Intel and should do 110 PPD on a normal WU (which for this WU puts it on a par with an AMD system at 1400MHz with PC2100 RAM  )

The rubbish Gromacs recently were only giving me 70-75 PPD on the XP1700 and 95-105 PPD on the Barton - I know which WUs I'd rather have :o

I'm getting 224ppd on a 3800 X2 at 2.5 ghz with 500mhz memory at 3-4-3-8 1t

Thats per core so 448 total

Why am I getting that much and everyone else so little

It only seems to be the HT-Intel machines which are suffering badly - even stock SocketA machines are doing relatively well

Hmm, my last amber unit:

Min. Time / Frame : 15mn 49s - 139.30 ppd
Avg. Time / Frame : 15mn 50s - 139.15 ppd

Thats on an Athlon 3500+ at stock with 1GB ram, :(

Got this nice one at the moment.. ;) :D

Sweeeeet

Just goes to show that the core2duos look like they'll make top notch folding machines.
My best ppd on a 364 pointer is about 560 - your core2duo nearly doubles that

I think I may do a Walter and sell off the farm and replace it with Conroes (although I'm slightly tempted to wait until the quad core jobbies come out :p ).

As for Ambers, my old 1200 Duron used to give me about 50 ppd on these :o

Stan :)
