My computer has been running reallly slowly for the past couple of days so i checked my temperatures, gpu is at 61 degrees and cpu at 54 degrees, both with no overclocking at all. Is this a bit too high or fine because of the warm weather?

My old AMD XP barton has been running at 70oC today, doesn't seem to have hurt it!

Maybe I need to re-apply artic silver becasue the side of case has been off all day too...

My 3000 o/c to 2.25 (which makes it roughly a 3500) is up to 41C on minimum fan speeds, an increase of about 9C on what it used to be, caused by higher ambient temperatures and the additional heat from my 7900GT@553/784. GPU is at 50C, which is 7C over normal, probably due to higher ambient temps.

Both your temps are fine and should not be causing slowdowns. Unless your processors are overheating and auto-throttling to reduce temps. Check the clock speeds and see if they're normal.

A64s don't throttle, when they over heat in my experience they "stutter" and lock up.

Your CPU temp is pretty high (not high enough to cause problems though) for an A64 though, what cooler are you using?

Have a look in your BIOS to see if it has a setting which throttles the CPU back once it reaches a certain temperature and change it to a higher degree.

Not many boards have this setting but I'm sure a few do.

They seem very high to me..

I've got a 3500+ Not oced + a 7900GT.

The 3500 Is running at 31 Idle with Artic Silver with stock cooler and around 41 at load.

GPU = 44 Idle 54 Load... They seem high to me :p

It seems my 3500+ even with a 120mm heatsink has been reaching 42-48c even when not overclocked. But that has effected my PC to slowing down, but then again the room where my PC is in, is above the kitchen.

And the summer has affected my PC as well.

its the basic cooler that came with the processor and same with the gpu, i have like 4 fans in there so i dont know why its so hot. My case is a coolermaster ATCs . Its really heavy and made of metal so that should be good too?

its hot indeed...

which chip is it? newcastle or a winnie?

as newcastles are renowned for running hot...

get a freeware prog called everesthome that will tell ya....

my 3500 newcastle is idling at 50 i have a hot room....so doesnt really help...

just took the side panel of my rig and temps dropped by all of 2 deg....thats idle lol....

Id agree ive never had an A64 go slow or throttle down if its getting too hot it will just go wobbly and then lockup/freeze....

Ive never seen it throttle down, thats even with quiet and cool enabeled.

My X2-4400 once it starts hitting 65c ive noticed can lock up id take a butchers thats not the actual temp proberly a bit off but its close.

Ive now upped the 120mm fans in my system, get slightly bit more noise but its still silent and 43-45c cpu temps now.

my computer has been locking up and freezing a lot over the past couple of days, only when playing a game. Hope my cpu is gonna survive the summer.

just went into the bios and its voltage is 1.5 volts is this way to high? I didnt build the system a local computer shop did, they messed it up?

My 3500+ venice is 37 idle. With arctic freezer 64 pro. About 40-42 max for load i think.

Wish it was feb-march again when it was 28 idle 32-33 load. :p

Oh and not sure what volts u have but venice shoul dbe about 1.35-1.4 mine is set to 1.4 using auto in bios as when i set it to 1.4 myself it doesnt do 1.4 for some reason.

Think my chip can go to 50-60 at its max. Anything above 60 is danger territory i think.

Oh and you seem to have a Q-Tec "fake" 650W PSU. This could be the crashing and freezing on your computer especially in this weather we have been having.
