Looking to upgrade some parts in my current system, Ryzen 1700X, Crosshair VI Hero, Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz RAM. These will be going to a second PC. Not sure about the RAM though as the second PC still has Kingston Fury Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 PC4-21300C15 2666MHz Dual Channel Kit which should probably be okay for second gaming PC with a AMD 390X running at 1920x1200.
Is the 3900X worth the extra over the 3700X? What mobo would you pair it with? Will be using a Vega 64 GPU and 27" 2560x1440 monitor, probably going for a Freesync LG850... will also be watercooling the CPU.
Should this come with a cooler and fan?
my OC built system has a 3900x with an AIO, yesterday i needed a cooler and fan for another project and assumed (if its supposed to come with one) they would have put the unused parts in the box but its not in there.
A prebuilt will be using the OEM tray part, so no it will not come with a cooler.
I blame @LtMatt for my purchase. He kept on telling me to buy it (buy it buy it) so I had too.I'm somewhat glad this is back up to £450, had decided to come home today and buy.
Impulsive, yes. Sidestep, yes. But I was this close!

Arrives tomorrow. Shipped my 3700x to its new owner today.Just buy it.
Have you had chance to use it yet?
I did something similar tbh. Started out with a 3700X and ended upgrading to a. 3900X for the higher clock speed and extra cores. My main usage is football manager and that game does actually benefit from extra cores when processing the results of other football matches.Arrives tomorrow. Shipped my 3700x to its new owner today.
Mine will be under a full custom loop, so hoping for good temps.I did something similar tbh. Started out with a 3700X and ended upgrading to a. 3900X for the higher clock speed and extra cores. Using the stock cooler here and it does a sterling job only 1-2 FPS behind the best AIOs.

Mine will be under a Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black cooler, so it'll be fun to compare a stock cooler, mine and your custom loopMine will be under a full custom loop, so hoping for good temps.
