That's my worry looking at it tbh. My case is pretty small, may stick with the H100 as it's a lot thinner.Make sure you have the clearance to fit the Arctic… the radiator is a chunky boy.

Yeh I could get away with something cheap but thinking I prefer the AIO setup in case I decide to get a higher wattage chip in future - 5800x3D as an example. The 5600 is a 65W TPD part like my 5700x, therefore I could get away with using a budget CPU air cooler. I use the Vetroo V5 which costs £ 32.99 and it keeps my 5700x at 57c under Cinebench R23 and up to 64c in Battlefield 2042 at 4K medium settings.
There are better more expensive air coolers which will knock a further 6c or so off those temps but those temps are already decent enough so no need to spend the extra money.
I went from a H100i v2 (240mm) to a Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360mm and it was a good improvement but the H100i was a few years old. The 280mm is the sweet spot if it fits in your case, also the price has gone up quite a bit, the 360 was £90 when I got one.Better than an H100x?
I'm in a Cooler master Q300L so unsure about clearance with a 3080Ti FE.I went from a H100i v2 (240mm) to a Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360mm and it was a good improvement but the H100i was a few years old. I put quite a bit on, An 'X' across the CPU and then a couple of dots in the gaps too.I am using a 5800X3D and idling in the 30 or 40C’s range (readings using HWiNFO64), with a Arctic 280, using the offset mounting and the TG Carbonaut pad.
Are you using enough thermal paste?
Thanks for the tips. Will do some benchmarking tomorrow.I get ~50C in BIOS and 30-50C Idle in Windows depending on room temp. Run CineBench and use HWiNFO64 to get max temp, if it’s under 80C after 3 runs then you should be ok.
If closing the case increases temps, try increase the exhaust fans. I also noticed having the cooler fans too high gets me higher temps as the pump and fans are on the same cable, I have mine @1000hz at @50C and about 1350Hz at 70C, That’s with a 3900X and 360mm though.
It looks like your AIO has got an air bubble trapped in it somewhere.Sigh, put my old CPU (5820k) and board in and seeing high temps with my AIO.
Looks like my pump might have failed.
Anyone recommend a good AIO for AM4 chips?
Small update, I think it's a case issue.
With the side panel off I'm able to get as low as 35C idling in Windows. As soon as I try to put the cover on I'm seeing that rise to 50C idle really quickly.
Will do some load temp testing but looks like my case has far from adequate air flow.
Ye quite possible, just decided to move on to the AC one but might get it checked out and sell on etc.It looks like your AIO has got an air bubble trapped in it somewhere.
I have 2 x140mm intake fans in front and 3 x 120 fans pushing air out at back and on top in my Lian li case. This is with a Noctua DH 14 air cooler on the CPU. It is all very quiet.
