Hello!

Facing issues with my new AMD Ryzen 5600x build

Config:

AMD Ryzen 5600x
Gigabyte b550 aorus elite
Nvidia Inno3d 3070 x3 ichill
Nzxt x53 AIO cooler
Crucial Ballistix 16gb 3600hz
PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-750 750W 80+ Gold Modular

It crashes only while gaming and it is very random i.e. within couple of minutes or after 3-4 hours of gaming. Most of the time it happens only once but somedays 3-4 times in 30 minutes. The screen goes black and does a quick restart, lights and fans in the CPU keep running though. I did all the possible tests for memory, psu, gpu i.e. Prime95 + Furmark, 3d mark, memtest 86 etc. but doesnt crash during that time. Tweaked XMP settings as well but still the same issue.
I did check the temperature and they seem to be okay i.e. while valorant it around 55-60 and warzone, gta around 70.
I dont have the luxury to swap the GPU and see what parts are failing. I did try to change the CPU i.e. 5600x with another 5600x and still the same result.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Sounds like the GPU is causing it, have a look in event viewer after a crash and see if it says event 14 nvlddmkm.

Worth a look at.

Make sure you have not overtightened your AOI to the CPU
Had a similar issue on my 3600x with my non AMD fitting kit.
Loosened it off a bit and was all good going forward with temps fine.

Hello! Thank you for all the suggestions. I tweaked xmp on/off.
Downclocked GPU core by -200 and it crashed after 2 days.
BSOD event log says: nvlddkm.sys.

I have done mem test as well and they seem okay. Swapped my 5600x with another 5600x and still experiencing crash.

Have you tried underclocking the Gpus VRAM also?.

No, i just underclocked the core to -200.
I will do vram as well.
Any way to determine if it's a faulty GPU or any other component? All my stuff is under warranty.
Thanks

It's just a case of trial and error with these type of things.

I do think it's related to the GPU though but if it still happens after underclocking the cards VRAM and you are definetly using 2 separate 8 pin leads from the psu then it could end up being something else.

Wow, 14 posts in thread and I get to be the first to say :

Try DDU and then newer or older drivers. (which would normally be about the 3rd post in a thread like this)

I tried DDU in safe mode. Downloaded the drivers from the inno3d website and also the latest drivers from nvidia, both resulted in a crash :(

Sounds like Video card to me, in fact had the same issue many years ago, it was the factory overclocked Nvidia card I was using, see if you can try a different video card to rule it out.

Just curious you haven't by any chance got the cam software installed have you?

I've had system freezes/crashes with the cam software installed but since removing it I've had no issues. NZXT even confirmed it was an issue on support but no solution.

Might be unrelated with your issue but thought I'd mention it.

I have a similar setup to you also.

I dont have the cam software issue. I underclocked my GPU by -300 and it still does crash but once in a blue moon.
Most likely its the GPU and OCUK support team even confirmed that.
