AMD 6870 Boot To Black Screen

Hi guys, i've got a bit of an issue with my gfx card. the tl:dr version is my computer boots to black screen (no windows login) if i have the gfx card enabled with drivers installed.

2 days ago after watching a youtube video on my dual screen set up, the computer hung and both screens were filled with red and white lines. I rebooted the computer and windows loaded. Just after i typed in my password for the login screen, the computer hung yet again. So another restart, this time however the computer didnt boot past the windows loading screen (thus the boot to a black screen).

I managed to boot into safe mode, which allowed me to disable the gfx card and boot absolutely fine into windows. I tried re-installing the AMD drivers and as soon as i did and restarted the computer, straight back to the boot to black screen!

So i've narrowed it down to the drivers being the issue. I've done a quick google and it seems others have had this issue, but no mention of if/how to fix it. Has anyone here had this issue? Any help would be hugely appreciated.

My system is 3 and a half years old (whole thing bought here) and this is the first and only issue i've ever had with the system. System specs are:
Windows 7
AMD HD 6870
BeQuiet! 650W PSU
Core i7 950 CPU with Asus Ultimate Force MB.

This happened to me recently with my 7990 installing the 14.4 drivers. About three reboots and I was back in. Id try the previous dtivers or the 14.6 beta driver.

Took the above pictures after i had the option to do a start up repair (never seen it before). It faciled, but interesting is the "BadDriver" element.

Ive tried to stop Windows from auto installing drivers, however it still decides to install a driver from somewhere when i uninstall the driver and run a system scan to pick it back up. Could this be related?
