AMD 8000 series

Kind of.

It would literally take about 20 seconds to replicate what the GHz edition is doing with MSI Afterburner so I don't personally think it's worth anything.

No.
i had always thought that any overclocked component would void the warranty, which components's warranty gets void when overclocked ?, im sure it will with the CPU

most if not all 7970's will do 1000/1050 core and 1500 memory at stock voltage for example mine does that on 1.112v

the ghz editions will be locked at 1.25v apart from those that arnt locked, msi ect

its just a case of moving the core and memory slider in ccc saving/exiting

There's no way for them to tell if it's been overclocked anyway but overclocking doesn't void the warranty.

do you get similar 'ghz' versions for NVIDIA gpu's ?

nVidia 600 series auto boosts to a clock speed depending on what kind of chip you've got. They can then be overclocked further like the 7000 series.

i.e. how good it is :)

As discussed before around 200% the performance of a 480, more once overclocked.

And as the AMD rep said. The 7*** series is the focus this year, don't expect the 8*** series until next year earliest.

Agreed Martini, prices for new products will stay the same as production will most likely just stop, second hand prices will prolly be fairly high because of the demand etc.

Do they? I've never seen the old games drop in price. Just fade out from the market. All the COD's and C&C's in my history have done this.
