UPDATE:

Wave 1 Stock: Due next week and sold out around 14:10 - 14:15 if you ordered before 14:15 you should have your CPU next week.
Wave 2 Stock: Due in about two weeks time, sold out around 14:45, if you ordered before 14:45 you should have your CPU this month.
Wave 3 Stock: Due in December, anyone who placed an order after 15:00 don't expect your CPU until December.

We will endeavour to push extremely hard to get stock in as soon as possible, as I say we have 10,000 units on back order, we have now pre sold over 1200 units.
Anyone placing an order now (15:30 onwards on November 7th) do not expect to receive your 9800X3D until December. We are pushing AMD very hard and are keeping them well informed of our pre-order totals.

We have limited sales to 1pc per customer!

UPDATE (26/11/2024):

First of all thank you to all of those who have patiently waited who were confident to pre-order with OcUK.
I have managed to pull some strings and as such on the 150 units we are expecting have just arrived and at end of this week we should also receive an additional 700 units, so that is 850 units this week, this will CLEAR ALL PRE-ORDERS. Now unfortunately since launch two things have happened, margin has increased at distribution (due to lack of supply) and the pound has weakened from 1.30 at launch down to 1.26 last week and this week, the result is we are losing money, but all the pre-orders shall be honoured at the purchase price.

USDGBP.JPG

Unfortunately new orders will have to be at a higher price, we are a business and as such need to make a profit and not a loss, as such the price has increased, until supply improves vastly the price won't come down much, we have tried to keep the increase minimal and as such priced it just above the 7800X3D which is also experiencing a major shortage at the moment.

We expect stock and supply to improve late January next year, as such the price with better supply, distribution will reduce margin and be more competitive, we can also hope the pound might pickup but I doubt this as Trump elect will further strengthen US economy and no doubt make the USD stronger against other currencies, but hopefully margins at distribution level will drop and if supply is ample we can also reduce margin as well. :)

Good work to all those who got one at MSRP, it is nearly 1500 of you, well done. :)

Once we have cleared the back orders we will consider putting the product back on the website and available to order.

DO NOT CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR UPDATES OR CHANGING YOUR ORDER, JUST BE PATIENT AND WAIT PLEASE, YOU SHOULD GET YOUR ORDER THIS WEEK, ALL OF YOU WHO PRE-ORDERED. :)

UPDATE

Hi there

We are expecting a batch of 108 units tomorrow, this should cover all those who ordered around 2pm, don't call for queue positions as CS can no longer provide that info.
A further batch of 78 units is due Wednesday.

We are then hopeful another batch of 300-400 units will be us by end of this week. This will conclude our first wave of stock.

Our second wave of stock is expected end of next week but we are still seeking confirmation.

I ordered mine at 1.45 on November 7th meaning I should get it this week. I dont believe this update statement for 1 second and i bet it will be a 2025 arrival. If i dont get it by Dec 5th I will cancel and and get a refund

You did not order at 13:45, as the CPU was not live on our website until around 13:55, so you either need a new clock as there was no product online to order at 13:45.

CPU's have arrived today as promised and more are expected later this week.

UPDATE

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, out of yesterdays delivery of 186 units, only 166 units arrived, these have now all shipped out and so based on courier method selected 166 of you should be getting your 9800X3D today.

Our largest batch of stock is still delayed, it has been released from customs now, as such we are just waiting on the distributor to sort shipping out to themselves, which will hopefully happen today and to then ship out to ourselves which should in theory happen tomorrow or Friday fingers crossed, this is for 300 units if all goes as planned, as the distributor does not have the stock yet they cannot confirm if our allocated 300 units are all there or not, once they confirm to me I shall confirm here, but they are now in midlands awaiting pickup from the distributor, hopefully that will be done today/tomorrow and with us Friday latest, worse case Monday.

We are also expecting another 80-100 units next week, so if all goes to plan we are expecting another 300-400 in coming days which should clear all orders before 14:15 and some after this time.

Second larger waves of stock is still unknown, hopefully some more clarity on shipping times next week which should start hitting orders after 14:30 and beyond as the largest bulk of orders was prior to 14:30.

I'm curious what method was used to select what orders got dispatched?

I believe it is chronological order.

Still I ask people be patient, as I say more stock is en-route and due within the next 7 days is a further 300-400 units which should guarantee every order is shipped that was placed on launch day before 14:15 and plenty of the orders placed between 14:15-14:30 we may even clear all those.

As I say I placed orders for 10,000 units back in October, so I judged the demand for this product very well, as such getting my orders in so early and also going big with the ordering should in theory guarantee OcUK very good allocation of waves 2 and 3 of incoming UK stocks. :)

Just need to be patient, as the saying goes all good things come to those who wait. :)

Thanks for the info, that seems a bit silly as a system...surely the sync should be first in first out anyway.

Gibbo has been saying ordered as a time so I would assume he means when we ordered not when warehouse received as that is a clear difference.

Maybe the call staff was just telling you they don't know as they don't at the moment.

Guess we just need to wait and see!

This does sound plausible, as when I have ordered things online, I don't actually see that order appear in the ERP until later, but with the old ERP/Website and I am sure its similar with this new ERP that paying using the OcUK checkout with a debit/credit card always seemed to be quickest method.

I know on 3080 launch, Amazon payments caused a huge disaster, as Amazon made it look like people had placed an order successfully, but OcUK never received the order and Amazon never took the funds, but Amazon did not make those customers aware until 24-48hrs later. This was totally out of OcUK's control and was a server issue at Amazon's end timing out.

As such for brand new product launches in high demand I'd always avoid external check outs like Amazon, Paypal, Finance etc.

OcUK has made huge improvements on our own servers and this was proven with 9800X3D launch as our website never went down, in fact it did not even slow down. :)

Cheers Gibbo, must be hard for you guys not knowing exactly when the stock is coming in due to customs etc. Bit of a **** up launch worldwide really.

Yes, in fairness to AMD I think each country got several thousands units, though UK missed launch, I think in the UK on launch day there was under 100 units, due to the bulk of the thousands all been sat in customs which are now coming through at distributors and been spread amongst the resellers from wave 1 stock.

Rest of world got thousands for launch, but the demand was off the scale, due to a number of a factors, 9800X3D been an amazing product, Intel launch very poor by comparison and the fact AMD priced it same as 7800X3D on launch and of course OcUK held that MSRP for launch for entire period of taking orders, which I believe no competitor did, I did see other competitors charging as high as £550 for the product.

Hi there

I just checked with people who know internally:

OcUK check out with debit/credit card is the fastest checkout method and should appear in OcUK warehouse almost instantly unless payment declined or other item out of stock, on product launch always best to order the launch product SOLO.

Amazon/Paypal check outs, we don't see these until the API does the callback to us, hence these methods can cause a delay in OcUK getting the order, in times of high demand we have experienced their servers timing out and we never get the order and they can be slow at informing the customer of the failed transaction or never inform them.

Finance, wont get a queue position until it is approved, this can cause a considerable delay in us receiving the order, avoid on new product launches.

In short if your impatient, want to be as high up in the queue as possible make sure your payment method is debit/credit card using the OcUK checkout and select DPD next day shipping.

i'm genuinely tempted to get a 4080 super now because I can't even bear the thought of a Nvidia launch again... my 3080 is great, just struggles at 4k with some games.

We have no vision of 50 series yet, what I can tell you is 4090 is now EOL and incredible hard to get, prices have rocketed.
4080 Super is now going short and prices firming up, we still have plenty of cards online at sub £900 which is some of best pricing in UK.
4070 Ti Super, is very tight now, we still have some sub £700 cards.
4070 Super is going short, unknown on this, think the shortage is just down to pre built PC sales rocketing across the globe, so NVIDIA just struggling to cope with demand and suspect it will continue well into Q1 next year.

@Gibbo

What about us fools who added something else to the cart, but that is now showing as "out of stock" BUT was in stock when we ordered. Is that item put on a shelf for when the 9800x3d becomes available or am I waiting for both parts to be in stock + be at the front of the queue? I asked CS and they told me it would hold and ship with the CPU (but that was when it was in stock). SKU STO-CRS-01188 was the other item (Corsair nvme). Because I am a 14:28 kind of guy, the worst really lol

Those SSD's are due in any day so should not pose an issue.

I asked the exact same question in the other thread, and I was told to contact CS. Which I did and CS told me that the motherboard had been reserved for me and was just awaiting the CPU stock and it would go out. I'm questioning that a bit now though since my order was at 14:05:08 (paid with CC) and it doesn't look like I made it into the first batch of CPUs even though others with later order times seem to have.

I'd not worry as I say a further 300-400 CPU's are due over the next few days.

So doesn't look live me and the rest of wave 2 will be seeing our CPUs before christmas then, ey...

I am confident we will supply every order pre Christmas. :)

Tomorrow we should find out the 300 which were delayed are all there and on the way to us for Friday/Monday, so if goes to plan that is 300 more. I also have confirmation of a further 80-100 next week, so that is 400 by end of next week and more likely at start of it.

Have also made plans to have all remaining back orders cleared by end of this month if all goes as planned, so all those who pre-ordered will have by Christmas.

UPDATE:

All been well the 300 due today will arrive as promised.

I’d advice nobody calls up to change a delivery because if they arrive late today your order would then not ship at all so it’s too risky to amend a delivery on a order and risk order not shipping at all.

Another 80pc 9800X3D are arriving on Monday as well which so far puts us at:

- 166 shipped
- 300 due today
- 80 due Monday

We are still owed 120 from wave 1 shipments which we also hope to see next week on top of the above. That will put us at 666 shipped.

Wave 2 shipments should start showing towards end of next week and week after and we’re hoping these will have enough volume to clear all back orders by end of this month / early December.
