AMD A10-5800K audio issue

Hi Guys,

I have a slight problem with an A10-5800K and a Gigabyte F2A85X-U3D. The audio driver for sound over the HDMI, I have done a fresh install of the operating system after adding an SSD and installed the AMD catalyst drivers and the chipset drivers and all was well but then..........

I installed all 108 Windows Updates and now the audio via the HDMI isn't working the TV isn't displayed under the audio control panel either as a playback device? (strange I know).

I thought it maybe a driver so uninstalled AMD catalyst & chipset drivers and installed them again nope same issue, has anyone else had this and found a solution? if not its a trip to the purple place and pick up some really cheap & nasty speakers......

I've had the same issue with AMD cards but my A10-5800K build has always been fine (with a AV Amp), the fix i found was to always have the TV on when i booted up the PC this always resulted in the HDMI sound been detected and working for me...

If you not using the analog audio then disable the onboard sound. That sorted my issue out when I had the same problem.

Cheers guys, Shame I can't acutally see the UEFI on the HDTV did the install and setup round from memory which worked looks like this is going to a pain in the backside.....
