As a newbie to all this is it possiable for me to upgrde this cpu easy for something else on my motherboard.

An A6-3670k or A8-3870k wuld be a nice upgrade. But i would expect too much.

Well although your upgrading from a dualcore to a quadcore, its still a lano apu.

Not exactly super powerful.

The Llano chips use a unique FM1 socket, what is your full current system spec?

If his current chip is a AMD A4-3420 then the mobo will accept any FM1 chip.

it will say on the pcb somewhere what it is.

Go to command prompt and type wmic computersystem get model

It should display the motherboard manufacturer and model providing the OEM filled this field in the bios.

Medion sell a desktop using the quad core A8-3820. So it's possible. Your best bet is to contact them and ask if your particular machine supports quad core CPUs before you go dropping money on a CPU and throwing it in there.

Most, if not all, FM1 motherboards accept all the Llano CPU. If you wish to upgrade it you could probably upgrade to any CPU on this page:http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=1967&subid=2060

But as OhEsEcks has suggested, if you are not sure it could be reassuring to contact the manufacturer.
