AMD and Creative Assembly to Deliver the Ultimate Alien: Isolation Experience

No thoughts of your own OP?

It's a shame the didn't give us any specifics such as if the game would use true audio or tressfx but this is certainly a marquee game AMD have bagged here im really looking forward to it I just hope my gtx670 isn't crippled by it.

Also a bit surprised TrueAudio wasn't mentioned, you'd think this game could benefit greatly on the audio side if TA is as big a deal as they made out previously. Maybe this all came a bit too late in development for it to make it in?

This. I too got sucked in about Aliens Colonial Marines, but this game looks so so better.

Exactly and is not as if Creative Assembly have a reputation of releasing unfinished buggy games.............;)

In all seriousness this looks like a candidate for game of year whilst CA can shift out the odd bug hive from to time there games are always enjoyable and this looks no different.

no Mantle and no TrueAudio... who cares about the rest, any game nowdays worth mentioning should have multi monitor, and multi gpu support...true audio would have been cool for this game, otherwise the announcement is useless...

Agreed about any game should have multi-monitor and multi-GPU, but Watchdogs (no multi-screen), CoD:Ghosts (no multi-screen, and multi-GPU officially unsupported!) and several other new titles show this just doesn't happen. :(

I mean, even Goat Simulator supported multi-screen properly!:D

EDIT: Looks like SLI and Crossfire support were added to CoD:Ghosts, but their FAQ stated this wasn't supported when I played the game approx. 2 months after launch, and caused flashing shadows and memory leaks that crashed the game (14GB used for the game alone!) when I did play it with crossfire enabled.

Just watched a few videos on this, the lighting and atmosphere looks brilliant, very on edge gameplay.

I can sense a turtles head from this game that hasn't been seen since doom3 :p

Lol Doom 3 is ok but it was more of a power cut simulator. Set the bar in graphics even though it was delayed massively. This reminds me more of the Amnesia genre.

Condemned Criminal Origins is also one to play if you've not. Strangely also published by SEGA

This is something that will improve over time i think. They did say when Mantle launched that new bottlenecks will show up in certain areas and vram is one of them. Thankfully it's not a huge issue at the moment, but I'm sure it is an area which is being looked at. Infact, Johan Andersson has already said they're thinking of redesigning the memory management to avoid over committing for future titles.

Wasn't the argument at the time that it was better to leave it to the developers as they knew better how to optimise for their games.
I don't recall the argument being that given enough time developers would manage to optimise better than AMD & Nvidia have been!

Hopefully they'll have it all figured out by the time DX12 is out or it could affect a significant number of people!

From what I've seen of the game it does look quite goo, but in fairness I could probably have said that about any of the Alien games that have been released and can't remember the last really good one (some have been passable).
Even if it is the best game in its genre it still wouldn't interest me as I'm not a fan of the genre.

I'm probably forgetting something obvious, but it seems about time there was a decent movie tie-in game, just to show it can be done!

If anyone didn't know much about this game, I recommend VideoGamerTV on youtube, who have done a few vids on it, quite in depth discussions about their thoughts on demos that they have played of it.
