AMD and Nvidia in a race to the bottom

Isn't a big factor to this is the sub optimised games because of the last Gen consoles requiring so much time, effort and money to get working which left little room for pc ports to truly stretch their legs.

With the room to develop with the new Gen consoles, and with reports already stating developers are having a much easier time to develop a game for the new Gen, that means time, effort and money is more efficiently used and in theory, room to spare for the pc port.

We should see something come out of this generation since the new consoles are very powerful
In theory, yes.
However, polishing a game vs beancounters wanting it out even earlier in a near beta stage: I wonder which will win?

Yes that was an issue before and actually the very compounding issue for the PC versions.

As the new gen of consoles are just way more powerful, they require less polish simply because its more then likely whatever the devs threw i.e effects will perform fine, they don't need to go back and tune it down like they did with the last gen of consoles which lets be honest, were super weak on release and required loads of development polish just to get working or performed badly.

The new consoles are that much more powerful that devs should be spending less time tweaking this aspect of polish, if they can complete the console version faster just means more headroom to polish the PC version.

I honestly have felt that most multi platform games is just the PC version having to brute force so much unoptimised code.

Lets be honest here, you need a high end GPU to play at the same settings as the PS5, those GPU even at MSRP cost more then the PS5, I am hoping to see devs being able to not be so hamstrung from the last gen, they can be more efficient with the PC version, I honestly think current PC hardware at the high end is still under utilised ( and no to people, I am not talking about that utilisation on MSI afterburner).

Not really, ivybridge was nuts and that was 4 cores.

We now can get 16 cores on the desktop which is understandable but at the same time, it's not that much hotter then ivybridge

Well i have 3800x myself and its fine, but i was under the impression the new Intel 11th Gen when pushed were very hot ?
