AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4GHz

Got it now, suprised tbh ran 2003 with no gain at all but i think they mostly gfx card side, Putting in bf2 now to see

Ive lost fps in bf2.lol so far the P4 is out performing this.

Anyone got any ideas why this A64 am2 3800 aint giving any performance boost over a 3.4 p4 in gaming ?

What DDR2 RAM Speed are you using? If it's only 667MHz, you'll be losing potential performance relative to the S939 version, even with DDR2 800MHz it is slightly slower than the S939 version with low latency DDR 400MHz RAM - there's a review on tomshardware that shows this.... A64 needs low latency RAM!
 
i seen the reviews on there, i running it in 533 with latency of 3.3.3.9, now i know thats higher than i ran with 2.5 before on amd but tbh 3 aint that big difference.

For some reason it won't run in 667 with cas 4.4.4.12 just won't boot up into windows.

I understand the low latency side but really should my P4, 3.4 gig out perform this 3800 in bf2 ?, or in bf2 is cpu not such a big thing.
