I don't think so, though I may be wrong.
I'm happier about my temps now cause I have run the amd overdrive stability test for 20mins and it only reached 65.C![]()
I had this exact problem with a trinity 750k. At stock settings I was getting a reading of 46c idle and upto 78c gaming (via one temp monitoring software) and then HWMonitor would show over 100c. I read somewhere that there was a problem with the trinity cpu's reading correct temps and it works in a different way to other cpu's.
I actually built this for a friend and he is using it daily for gaming and it is really quiet and more importantly very cool. I made sure it was not heating up as the software suggested by placing my hand around the stock cooler and feeling for heat....There was none at all. I did change his stock cooler for him, Though that was peace of mind on his part.
Amd overdrive is the one that will give you the most accurate temp on your cpu, So don't worry, All is well![]()
Is this at idle? When i touch it at idle it felt a tiny bit warm and when gaming it is hot but I dont have to take my hand off it.There was none at all
I have found that Gigabyte Easy tune gives my best readings I think (as I am using a Gigabyte mobo) and with the stock cooler i'm getting 30.C idle and 60-78.C at 100% using prime 95But I am also buying an aftermarket cooler from peace of mind

I think both easytune and overdrive work the same when reading trinity cpu's. It was at both idle and underload as well and my findings were very similar to what you are reporting. The stock heatsink is very poor and you will def get better temps using an after market cooler.
