What do you think of it? Good value for money?
it's okay.
but you'll want to bump the ram up to 16gb and add a 480gb ssd. that will push the price up to £873.
also tacking on the vega56 (and removing windows) brings the price to £803.
lousy psu though - would definitely want it changed

My basket at Overclockers UK:
  • 1 x OcUK Gaming Citizen Gaming PC - AMD Ryzen 5 2600, RX 590 8GB Graphics ***THREE FREE GAMES*** = £802.90
    • Memory:Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey (TLGD416G30
    • Graphics Card:*Build Stock* Sapphire Radeon RX VEGA 56 Pulse 8GB HBM2 PCI-Express Graphics Card
    • Solid State Drive (optional):TeamGroup 480GB L5 Lite SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 3D NAND Solid State Drive
    • WIFI:Unwanted
    • Operating System:Unwanted
    • Security Software:Unwanted
Total: £817.00 (includes shipping: £14.10)

As for power supply, they say we can call to make changes. Will see about doing that.

according to the pics on the website, yes, gigabyte aorus elite. so i'd assume so.

yeah i'd also change the case too tbh.
the kolink stronghold doesn't have the best ventilation, and i suspect the vega56 will run pretty hot inside it.

to something like this:
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £156.68 (includes shipping: £11.70)

should be an extra £60-70 on top going by shop prices.
i wouldn't dare run a vega56 on a cheap kolink psu. even with a 3 year guarantee :D

@tamzzy list is solid, if you can't push the cash and PSU, just push the PSU.

Think Antec p8 might be on sale, sort of an in-between from the two above .

Also can pick up 1440p 144hz Freesync for like £270 !!!

Cash is tight at the moment but at the same time don't want to waste money on mediocre parts. Im thinking that there may be other components and/or systems perhaps with a better psu/case will appear in the run up to bkack friday? Worth holding back for now?

So I gave OCUK a call just now to ask what I can and cannot change in the system and was told:

"Extremely limited" with regards to swapping case and psu.
No option to change GPU. What the configurator allows is the only option you can get as the price of CPU and CPU are related.

Now that said, how is the rx 590? I really do not want to wait for a re-stock of the vega 56 some time next month.

Is it still worth getting? 2 year old architecutre and a crazy TDW.

Any suggestions guys?

The RX 590 is a bit of a step down from the Vega 56. Basically a GTX 1060 vs a GTX 1070/ti if it was comparing Nvidia cards.

Can you not build your own system ? That way you are not tied to the configurator.

Was trying to see if i could save some money in that deal. I have now ended up building up my own pc :)

Looks good. Hope that mini gpu doesn't make too much noise though :D

Feel free to post your other spec once you have decided :)
