Hey guys/Ocuk
I have been planning a build for a while now, within a budget. I had been looking since around Oct
(whilst trying to see what FM2+ was like) I did look into Intel, but for the cost and with bills and stuff it really pushed me beyond what i could afford at this time, so i went back to my original plan of the 6300 but managing to push for a gpu aswell. Although i do have a few questions, possibly!
The build constructed was :
YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £142.99
1 x AMD Piledriver FX-6 Six Core 6300 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail £89.99
1 x Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £74.99
1 x Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00614) £74.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX) £65.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £59.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache WD10EZEX - OEM ** Single Platter ** HDD £52.99
Total : £571.52 (includes shipping : £8.00).
This build goes a bit beyond what i was originally going to go for (was going to use my old gpu) but with it being a bit over, i managed to include a r9 270 so thought it was worth it. The evo board for the good power phases mainly, i was looking at the 970a-ud3p, and it looked pretty good but after thinking about it (and some people, though not all ofc having a few issues with it) i went back to the asus (Just asus rma scares the hell outta me lol
) The Gpu i was very tempted with Msi's, but with some of them possibly leaking/fan failing i went for a Gigabyte.
One question is, the 6300 will be great (coming from lga775) and will no doubt sort me out, but should i push for the 8320 at £30 more (or stay with the 6300 and get a cooler for that £30) Or save the £30 and keep the 6300 at stock for a few months, with general bills/living.
Also, i was looking at various coolers but wanted to ask with the Coolermaster evo, can you slide the clips down to let the fans blow under and over the Vrm's? I ask this mainly because the other coolers had the metal clips that didn't look like you could lower where the fan was.
Thanks for reading and any replies though guys!

i keep pricing up the 6300, then looking at the 8core afterwards. It's one of my main should i/shouldn't i, thoughts.
