Intel Build

Hi guys,

I made another build but this time its an AMD build. Please take a look and keep in mind its my first build:

Build in post #13

I went with a AMD build cause of the new bulldozer processor coming out. With this build I could implement it easily.

Appreciate the help.

Looks like a nice build Poo's on my PC (see Sig) but i have a SSD and 8GB ram upgrade coming. More board doesn't support AM3+ though :/ bit pooey but works for me for now

BTW, I'm sorry to say, but you can get a 2500K retail and a MSI GD53 for £10 more than the 955 + Crosshair :/

That will still do crossfire (but not triple, like the crosshair, but then you'd need a 1000W PSU).

Spending money on AMD would be a joke atm, imo.

As for Bulldozer, meh... Either wait for properly certified AM3+ boards or get Sandybridge.

I'm thinking of getting an intel build but which build would be good for gaming with a £600 budget with a Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge)?

Thanks for that build. I'm actually thinking about going for the 6850 instead for that build. A little over my budget but it's probably worth it :)

Oh and that was a DVD rewriter. I named it wrong sorry :P

My mate sk82jack beat me to it. On current games the 5850 is on par and in some cases beats the new gen 6850. As new titles are released and start to embrace the new tech then the 6 series may well start to shine through. That said for £120ish and with some OC'ing that's quite some bang for buck.

I wouldn't personally suggest an AMD build unless you were on a tight budget. Seeing as you've opted for a £160 AM3 mobo it would be far wiser to go intel. That asus mobo won't take the new bulldozer cpus and to be honest it makes little sense to buy one now.

Also avoid "cheapo" power supplies like the plague. I think reapers' spec really is the way forward. Good luck with the build any problems come back to us.

Hi guys I actually ordered the parts and finished building it over the weekend. just getting my hands on the windows 7 cd now (MSDN for students).

I was wondering which monitor will be best for this build if it was for gaming and watching videos in quality? I want to have dual monitors too. appreciate the help.
