Some Polaris cards will be using HBM I'd imagine.
Ubisoft interested in VR? Will it come in a cinematic 24 fps?
I think AMD is having TWO families - Polaris and Vega which are launching in the next 12 months.
From the comments made,it seems Polaris is more targetted towards value for money so probably is using GDDR5. I expect Vega will be the performance card.
I'd be extremely surprised to see no new HBM cards from AMD this year.

Well I suppose this pretty much confirms the big boys are coming next year
Although Polaris 10 should be quite a performer if it's 350mm+![]()
Polaris 10 was running Hitman at 60FPS at 1440P.
Isn't Hitman locked at 60fps? Not that impressive then![]()
It sounds like we thought. AMD and NV both will launch the big HBM guns late in the year.
That's fine but it still doesn't make much sense apart from cost saving to limit all Polaris cards to GDDR. HBM even at 4GB has shown excellent signs at 4k, I just can't see there being no new HBM1 card from them this year.
