AMD card for high res monitor

With the news of lg bringing out a 34" super wide freesync monitor 144hz I was wondering if there's a AMD card out now that could make use of it and at a minimum run games on high with a bit of AA on, or will that be Vega territory?

Any Fury will do, especially X and WC Nano.
However even the 390X will do nicely.

Samsung said that there is going to be a gsync version of the 34" CF791. Which going to put on hold for few months the purchase of the monitor to see if the gsync version has HDMI Freesync also.
(why not considering ALL their new monitors support freesync, even the professional ones?).

It will be the best monitor selling like hotcakes if they do so.

None of those benches are with AA are they?

Personally I can't see any of the Fury cards being sound investments, they're behind the curve and AMD are yet to release anything high end in this gen.

They also don't show any recent games and most of them are AMD titles too, which means you can expect the best possible benchmark performance. We are at the brink of 4GB being inadequate for 1440 (let alone ultra wide), so the fury/x is out of the question and the 390X, despite it's 8GB, doesn't have the grunt. Thus waiting for Vega is the only viable solution if you only want to buy a freesync ultra wide.

Vega if you want to make any use of the full 144hz. I'm running the XR34 on my Fury X and the framerates are very playable (obviously). I'm currently going through Witcher 3 again with a couple of mods (HD textures and lightning primarily) with most settings on High (even Hairworks) and a few on Ultra (some just decimate your framerate like vegetation) and getting no lower than 45 but really no higher than 70-80, which is perfect for my freesync range -- but not really beneficial if you have 144hz cap, that's a whole lot of unused potential
Though Witcher 3 is a sort of 'worst case scenario' as it's hugely demanding but it gives you some idea. Basically, wait for Vega. I'm gonna be upgrading too when they release their offerings -- assuming they're not crap.

Edit: Just to throw in there that 4GB on the Fury has only ever been a limiting factor with very specific settings on GTAV - total hogwash and misinformed conjecture that it's in any way inadequate.

The Fury is going to be poor though in the future with only having 4GB, not a problem if you only want it for a year though tops.

I would go with a 390x over the fury. I had a fury over the weekend and it was a let down especially after owning a 390.

Had to get the settings to fit inside of the 4gb of vram as it wasn't pretty watching it struggle like that.

Depends on the game really, some games they have made great use of the hbm and its handling well over its ram amount with ease. Not all that many though.

I would as well, already got games now where the settings have to be turned down on the Furys/can't be selected, but not on the 390s due to the vram, and theres more coming.

Didnt know about this monitor sounds interesting, if its gysnc with 100-144hz then ill get that instead. Im much happier with an nvidia card as i seem to have bad luck with amd cards.

Aside from the old Fury there are none. I have the money to spend and there is literally no gpu on the market that meets my price/performance needs. Amazing really! I’ll just have to spend it on more holidays instead.
