AMD Catalyst 12.8 to 12.11 Scaling

Zoomed graphs humbug, tut tut.

Zoomed graphs? you mean the bar charts not starting from 0?

Well yes, on a scale of 2000 / 8000 they need to be otherwise what you end up with is bars of identical lengths :p

Its how MS Word formatted it, i can't be bothered to mess on with it to much.

No, just taking your heaven graph for example, if someone didn't really look at the graph they could think that there's somehow a 3x performance increase, instead of a 46 point improvement.

A true AMD fan showing a graph that has a massive improvement of 46 points :D I am jesting and I know you will get it to look a little more even than is showing but it did make I chuckle :D

For me the question is whether my 5850 would see an improvement in performance, going from 12.8 to 12.11 ?

Or do these improvements only apply to latest AMD cards ?

They finally got to work with the devs and the engine code (frostbite2-devs danger close), something only Nvidia had access to with bf3 and dice, hence all the dice producers saying to get the best possible experience go nvidia and to play full ultra you need 2x580's. I remember it well as i looked on with my paltry dual 6950's. :D

Nvidia just have better PR matt and made better use of it.;)

'We’re also looking forward to the release of BATTLEFIELD 3 later this year and will be dropping by the Dice booth to see the demo, set up on PCs featuring AMD Eyefinity technology. From the demos I’ve seen so far, the FrostBite™ engine looks fantastic and I can only imagine how brilliant it’ll look running on systems with AMD Radeon™ graphics cards.'

EA/Dice didn't give any preference to either, both of them worked closely with Dice along with Intel and Microsoft:

Far too big a title to side up with either team imo, plus I don't think the 2Gb 69's arrived out of coincidence, if you weren't a sheep, when the frame times came into play, the 5 series fell flat on it's ****(with the exclusion of the 580), something that 99% of reviews/BM results failed to inform.:(

Up until now, Nvidia were working harder than Amd in regards to BF3 or their implementation of DX11 multi-threaded rendering was way ahead, but now EA have signed up with 'Gaming Evolved', it's obviously reaping it's rewards.

Love them or loathe them EA have some heavy hitting titles, great piece of business Amd, about time too.
