I think it was more because at the time the Radeon wing was supporting the CPU side of the company.

Maybe AMD was aware of the flaw in Intel chips and said we'll build you a GPU aslong as AMD is associted with Intel CPU's.
 
Chaps, any more news on Ryzen+? I am itching to get a new building underway.

Can afford to buy everything apart from the video card...

And RAM...

Motherboards look a bit pricey as well... :D :p
