AMD CPU's worse at raytracing?

That is what I am talking about, they do only use 5200 ram probably C40 so not very good, but still the gap there is really bad for AMD.

I dont think the difference in Cyberpunk is anywhere near as bad as that one.

Most other stuff AMD is competitive, just makes me slightly worried that AMD might have a problem with a lot of RT being used, but as I just said most other RT benchmarks other than Spiderman and cyberpunk the AMD is competitive, we have not seen what the X3D can do yet, hopefully that is at least better than the 13700k.

see this is the problem its very easy to manipulate a benmark, like you say to start with the ram is 1200mhz slower, we all know ryzen needs fast ram so why did you put the slowest kit in there.
like the DDR4 cpu's are all running 3200mhz.. why?

german is not a language i know. look for others bench makes the show the same results or is this a one off?

I also saw one for miles morales on youtube where the 5800x3d was about 25% slower than the 13700k, so again not as bad as that first german site I posted. If the 7800x3d can add another 20% on top of that then it would not be far behind at all. Again not sure why that german site is so bad for AMD result. I reckon something to do with them using 5200 C40 when miles morales wants fast memory, so 6000 c30 would probably make a difference, not great testing methods from that site tbh.

Basically if you use PC at idle all of the time, intel is cheaper, the more you use AMD at load the more you save compared to intel. Because AMD is a lot less power at load.

Anyway anyone have any more info on AMD regarding ray tracing? Maybe spiderman is an odd result and overall there is not much of a problem, just a bit offputting when AMD is scoring massively lower compared to intel in that graph. I am not sure the difference in cyberpunk is THAT much, most other stuff AMD is around intel level. Hopefully the X3d will end up beating intel it looks very interesting.

Works well enough I can't tell any difference from my 3090 in CP2077 hogwarts is fine too

Maybe they fixed it in hogwarts? I read it was stuck at 50% CPU use.

Also seems odd with that spiderman test where it had CPU usage and it only used about 50% of 10900k, but it still got a lot worse on the 7700x on other site, overall bit odd.

Yes , and no. The scene and its geometry locations, materials etc generally has to be computed by the CPU, which is then passed to the GPU to render out.
Hmm, I thought geometry was done by the GPU as one of the first instructions in the rendering pipeline. Early AMD GCN cards struggled with geometry which gave Nvidia a huge performance advantage for a long time.

As I understand it, the cpu calculates everything in the scene and its location etc, then passes it to the gpu who then parses out that geometry. One of the early steps in the pipeline being to determine whether it can be seen by the camera viewpoint of the user. Ie if an object is behind another and so hidden from view then don’t render further. For the gpu to do that it needs to be told where every object is.

I’ve read that the early steps of breaking down the geometry (bounding boxes etc) can make a big difference in performance. ( but I’m far from an expert in it )
